Maggie Cassidy are proud to announce the details of their new single ‘Why Can’t We Just Be Friends?’ to be released on January 10th 2020.

‘Why Can’t We Just Be Friends?’ was produced by Neil Kennedy (Creeper, Boston Manor) at The Ranch and mastered by Grant Berry (Stand Atlantic, Deaf Havana).

The song was co-written with Liam Cromby, formerly of rock band We Are The Ocean. Opening line ‘You’ve been hanging out with masochists’ sets a confrontational tone for an anthemic rock track with an edge. At just under 3 minutes the track is an urgent account of struggling to communicate in the modern day.

The underground rockers return to the studio in January with producer Seb Barlow (Neck Deep, As It Is) to record their first body of work in the form of an EP to be released in the spring of 2020.

Maggie Cassidy are currently fully independent and approach their craft with a DIY work ethic. They have no label and work with a close knit team to deliver music aligned with their organic values.

2020 is set to be a breakthrough year in which their dedicated following, affectionally named ‘Club Cassidy’, grows exponentially. Their fan-centric values underpin activities such as playing free show for one fan and releasing a lyric video with sign language interpretation, setting them apart from their contemporaries in the scene.
