– Rock Sound

“Fearless knew talent when they signed it with this Floridian five-piece… authentic, emotional and strangely therapeutic. 8/10”

Rising Florida band Wage War showcase a softer side today, with an acoustic rendition of Johnny Cash, a track taken from last year’s sophomore album Deadweight (Fearless Records).
I’ve always loved Johnny Cash not only a musician, but as a writer. His lyricism is timeless and his songs are a staple to all walks of music. Being a fan of country music, I really wanted to incorporate something from that part of my life and tie it all together in something that hopefully reaches people the way his music does to me.

The track means a lot to me personally. It’s a song about devastation in the ultimate form of heartbreak. It’s been moving  to play live and see how many people truly connect with the song. As backwards as it seems to release a version of this song on Valentine’s Day, I feel like it’s something that will resonate with a lot of people and help them get through whatever situation they may be in
– Cody Quistad, guitar & vocals

Deadweight was produced by A Day To Remember‘s Jeremy McKinnon and renowned producer Andrew Wade (The Ghost Inside, Neck Deep, Eyes Set To Kill). Singles Stitch, Don’t Let Me Fade Away and Witness garnered support from BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Alternative Press, Kerrang! Radio and MagazineRock Sound and Metal Hammer.

2017 saw the band take their live shows to the next level, highlights including tours alongside A Day To Remember, Parkway Drive, I Prevail and Everytime I Die.

Wage War will be returning to UK shores in April to support Of Mice & Men on their European tour. Dates for the run are:

From there the group linked up with the production team of Andrew Wade (Neck Deep, The Ghost Inside) and A Day To Remember vocalist Jeremy McKinnon who produced their 2015 debut Blueprints. In a defining new era for the band, Wage War is certain to incite frenzied mosh pits for years to come, as the band displays an aggression that they’ve have only hinted at in the past.
