VHF’s music is created from the bottom up – that is, the drums are the creative force behind the band. The sound of the band varies from piece to piece, but it is a combination of ethereal trippy sounds and driving rhythms, enticing the listener to create a picture or movie to play out in their mind.
All musicians involved get to stretch their musical muscle and simultaneously showcase their abilities. ‘Shattered Insomnia’ opens the album and has an infectious energy; each instrument clearly is audible. ‘Whispers of the Soul’ is built around a Middle Eastern melody, which is prominent throughout the song. The guitar, drums and bass lay down a constant groove to keep your head bobbing. ‘Suspended Animation’ is like a Led Zeppelin composition, with a Steve Vai-ish trippy thing going on, mixed in with classical guitar runs. ‘Conception to Death’ (For 8 guitars) is another mind-bender. Very High Frequency is a trip of sonic explorations.” – John Kindred, Hard Rock Haven.net
