THE NEW MUSIC FOOD TRUCK PAYS TRIBUTE TO FEMALE ARTISTS IN HONOR OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

WITH SPECIAL GUEST AND ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE

NANCY WILSON OF HEART

MARCH 2 – MARCH 8

With a desire to promote and expose independent and alternative artists The New Music Food Truck debuted their first show in May 2018. With a background in radio and production, the show is the brainchild of music lovers and brothers Jim Edwards and Aaron Zytle. Behind the mic, you’ll find host Zytle showcasing in-depth and fresh interviews with artists on each show with Edwards producing. “The new music food truck is a one-hour weekly new music showcase for alternative and indie music worldwide. As program director at KRXP in Colorado Springs, each week I’d hear fresh new music that I really wanted to play but had no space in my programming to get it on. So along with my brother Jim as a producer, we created The New Music Food Truck. It’s a weekly showcase of hot, fresh, new music from around the world in a hip food truck format!” — Aaron Zytle Host & Program/Music Director

With hot and fresh new music each week The New Music Food Truck can be heard worldwide. The NMFT is currently carried on 31 radio stations, as a podcast on all major platforms like Spotify and Apple, and online 24/7 at www.newmusicfoodtruck.com.

On the menu for the week on March 2 through March 8 is a tribute to female artists in honour of International Women’s Day. The show features new music from Arlo Parks, Cloe Wilder, The Staves, The Blossom, JPOLAND, Dessa, Flock of Dimes, Ella K Sol, Suzi Quatro, Deap Valley, Ora the Molecule, and Sophia McGlew with a special interview with Nancy Wilson of Heart. “It’s tough to get your music heard on the radio when your independent and even harder for women in a male-dominated industry. The New Music Food Truck showcases independent music and with so much of it being created by women, we felt their music deserved an even brighter spotlight. International Women’s Day is the perfect time to dedicate the full hour of our show to some of the amazing music created by women today!” — Jim Edwards Executive Producer/Marketing Director

Nancy Wilson is celebrated as one of the seminal musicians in the history of rock n roll. A guitar virtuoso from the age of 10, Nancy (and her sister Ann) led the multi-platinum rock group Heart. Wilson has won four Grammy Awards, been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, received the She-Rocks’ legend award, and sold more than 35 million albums worldwide. Her upcoming release, You and Me mark the first solo studio album in her long career.

International Women’s Day takes place on March 8 to celebrate and shine a light on the achievements of women and how far they have come in the fight for their rights within the political, cultural, and social spheres.
