Hot off the release of their first album single, ‘The Silo’, Pennsylvania nu-core metallers TALLAH have been announced as part of the line-up of this year’s LOST HORIZON festival, which will take place as a streaming event, available in VR.

LOST HORIZON WILL TAKE PLACE ON 3RD & 4TH JULY 2020 AND WILL BE FREE TO STREAM

Working their way towards the release of their highly-anticipated debut album ‘Matriphagy’, Tallah will perform on the Freedom stage, the largest of four that will be featured during the event. The band will join the likes of Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Frank Turner, Pete Tong, Jamie Jones, Skream plus DJ sets from Hospital Records. Also joining the line-up as part of the Earache Takeover will be rock duo Nova Twins and fusion rap outfit PENGSHUi.

For its 11th incarnation, and in response to the pandemic, the team behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La has reinvented itself once more by teaming up with VRJAM and Sansar to create Lost Horizon, which is pegged as “the world’s largest independent music and arts festival” to take place in in virtual reality.

The event, which is free of charge to enjoy and will be raising money for The Big Issue and Amnesty International, will be available to watch via PC, VR or mobile app, or streamed via Beatport and Twitch.

You can out more information on the event by visiting the Lost Horizon website.

“We are so stoked to play the Lost Horizon VR Festival”, comments Tallah vocalist Justin Bonitz. “We have never participated in anything like this before, so we have no idea what to expect. Filming the performance in front of a green screen was so foreign and strange to us because we are used to having unlimited movement, but this was like, ‘Guys, we HAVE to stay in-frame or the take is no good.’ Overall, we are very pleased with the way it came out, and we think people will enjoy the chaos, the passion, the energy, and the little bit of comedy sprinkled on top of our set to give our viewers something to talk about and remember!”Recently offering up the first taste of their forthcoming album, Tallah’s latest single ‘The Silo’ saw a radio premiere in the week of release with Kerrang! Radio’s Johnny Doom, before heading over to Metal Hammer for an online premiere and subsequently hitting over 88,000 YouTube views after the first two weeks of release.

Releasing on October 2nd via Earache Records and available to pre-order now, Tallah’s forthcoming concept album offers graphic details of a series of gruesome and traumatic family affairs. Without publicly alluding to whether or not the story emanated from any real life events, Justin details the horrifying drama that unfolds, giving fans a small insight about the innermost thoughts and workings of Tallah.

“Matriphagy is a concept album about how an overprotective mother pushes her son to the edge of insanity through psychological and physical abuse. Having spent two decades trapped inside a glorified prison, and after some failed rescue/escape attempts, the son, in a state of heavy delirium, does the unforgivable to free himself from his mother’s wicked hold.”

Tallah’s latest single ‘The Silo’ is available to stream and download now. ‘Matriphagy’ is available to pre order from Earache’s website, including limited edition vinyl, signed editions and merch bundles. For more updates on ‘Matriphagy’, follow the band on social media. ABOUT TALLAH

Best described as ‘nu-core’, a genre painted with throwback elements to 2000s-era nu-metal but with a more modern, hardcore energy, Tallah shares a passion for playing intense, angry, loud, and heavy music.

Relying on the spirit of innovative metal realised through panicked guitar screams treated with industrial elements and distortion, Tallah’s screaming vocals mix with melodic choruses and driving bass guitar with deep and dirty tones, syncing up effortlessly with the thunderous bellow of drums and the screeching ping of the snare. With a ferociously energetic and depraved live performance that saw Justin Bonitz arrested in 2019, Tallah are about to make a bold statement of intent with their forthcoming antics, starting now.
