So for anyone unfamiliar with yourself, tell us a little bit about your backstory and how you ended up here.
D.I.G started back in 2013 when singer and guitar player Björn turned 30 and had a birthday party.
We got up and played some covers and thought that we should continue to play together and since Björn had material written we started playing does songs and here we are 7 years later haha.
It has been a good ride so far, we swapped drummers once that’s all. Our former drummer Elias just couldn’t put in the time so Jonathan came into the band. So the line-up is Björn-Vocals/guitar, Fredrik- Bass and Jonathan-Drums.
What’s Happening Now: Tell us about what you are currently up to.
Right now we are writing songs for our upcoming album that will be done by the end of the year.
We are also mixing a new single that might come out in September, we will see how things go.
But our latest release is the single “In The Blink Of An Eye” a song we are really proud of! And the first recorded music with Jonathan!
What is next for you guys?
Well as mentioned above writing new music is a priority one! We have been quite slow on this progress but we will try to work harder and speed things up during the summer.
And we really hope this corona shit will end soon so we can go out and play!
Give us a taste of your Influences & Inspiration
Dream Theater-Take the time. Man I have so many memories and songs that had a great impact on me from bands like Europe, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kiss and more! But I Remember when I got into Dream Theater because that’s when I first started to realize what music could be and I started thinking music. Still love this song! Great energy, great playing and catchy! Not every prog metal band can write catchy song eh 😉
Ac/Dc shot down in flames.
Simple, but intense with lyrics by the late, great Bon Scott.
Nirvana- Smells like teen spirit.
It showed me that you didn’t have to be “perfect” to play music.
If you can supply us with a YouTube link for the track so I can post the video in the feature, and give me a quote as to why this particular artist captured your imagination and influenced or inspired you to want to follow suit.
Many thanks – Mark – Editor – Rock ’N’ Load
