July 12th sees the release of The Supersonic Blues Machine’s first live album Road Chronicles recorded whilst touring through Europe following two highly successful studio albums. This album sees UK Blueman Kris Barras take over the reigns on vocals from Texan and former front man Lance Lopez. Their live recording allow these majestic players to stretch their legs that little bit further and express themselves as only bluesmen do, in an unapologetic fashion with beautiful guitar work and sublime musicianship.

Their easy on the ear style of Blues just flows beautifully across the album as each track greets you seamlessly, Barras has slotted in well to the line up with a stellar performance on vocals and lead guitar and sounds like he has been there for years. The band are a tight ship as you would expect with the quality within, but it is always a treat to hear that experience and level of musicianship live and in the raw.

The one, the only Mr Billy F. Gibbons joined the lads on this tour throughout the European leg, Gibbons brings his own level of swagger to proceedings with his signature vocal and guitar style you immediately get hit up the face with his larger than life musicality. First class gnarly Blues magic ensues and the album and live show is wrapped up with the classic ‘Going Down’ where unholy hell in unleashed on stage in a majestic crescendo.

A fine recording and definitely one that was too good not to be shared with the world, Road Chronicles Live will appeal far beyond the fan base of The Supersonic Blues Machine and way out to the Blues / Rock world and beyond.

Road Chronicles is released July 12thvia Provogue/Mascot Label Group.
