The seventh studio album that Rush released is about to re-release, but with a shed load of extras to add to the awesomeness that this album already holds!

Originally released in January 1980, Permanent Waves included a number of tracks that many Rush fans will know, even if they are unaware that it is Rush, just press play and hear one of the most played songs on the radio by the band as ‘The Spirit Of Radio’ welcomes us to this album and has been given a remaster. What a way for any album to start!

All of the original album tracks were given a remaster in 2015, however the extra special 40th anniversary treatment begins after the end of the final track ‘Natural Science’  when we have the joys of 12 additional tracks, all recorded from the Permanent Waves tour in 1980 and recorded between London, Manchester and Missouri and all previous unreleased.

Having been lucky enough to see the band live a number of years ago, there is nothing quite like a live Rush show and the live recordings capture the magic that Geddy Lee, Alex Liveson and the late Neil Peart create perfectly. There is some magically captivating about this three piece when they get together and let the music do the talking as their Prog Rock takes you on some of the most wonderful journeys that your brain could not even imagine.

As you experience the tracks, pick which air instrument you will be playing along with them as you try and join in with the legends as you sing along with Geddy, solo with Alex or try the near impossible task of drumming along with one of, if not the greatest drummer the world has ever seen.

Permanent Waves was and still is a fantastic album, and now its been cleaned up a bit and had a shedload of extras added that whether you are a super fan or a casual admirer of this incredible group, will enhance your collection and continue to show exactly why this band are one of the most important in the history of Rock.

This 40th Anniversary edition is also a perfect way to celebrate the life of Peart, who sadly died at the beginning of this year, in fact in January, the exact month of the initial release.

This is must have for any Rush fan and also a must experience for any future fan as I can guarantee that if you listen to this and have not heard Rush before, you will be hooked.
