12-Date UK & European Headline Tour This September – Tickets On-Sale Now

NASHVILLE, TN. / LONDON, U.K. – (17 May, 2023) – Platinum recording artist, Ron Pope, has today released new song, ‘You’re OK‘ alongside an accompanying video animated by Stephanie O’Byrne – available to view here. The song is the third release from his highly anticipated upcoming album, Inside Voices, set for release on June 2nd, 2023 on Brooklyn Basement Records.

‘You’re OK’ follows the release of ‘The Real Thing’ in March and ‘To Be Without You‘ with Ira Wolf and Robby Hecht in April. The videos, which were filmed in the same setting as a continuation to one another, were directed by Sean Hagwell and Joshua Shoemaker respectively.

Ron’s wife, Blair, nearly died in early 2020; ‘The Real Thing’ and its album-mates from Inside Voices were all created in the wake of that experience, infusing renewed vitality into music written about a relationship that has been explored in song for nearly two decades and ten albums.

Pope will embark on a UK and European tour to support the release in September 2023, with Lydia Luce supporting. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at ronpopemusic.com/shows:

Ron Pope’s Inside Voices is an expertly crafted collection of songs about growth, heartache, lasting love, the joys of parenthood, and living with gratitude. This is an album that was created in an emotional foxhole, written as Pope and his family recovered from his wife’s near death experience and recorded as he tragically lost both of his grandparents over one eight-day span.

“My grandparents were the kind of ‘crazy in love but also practical, good partners’ that we are,” Pope says. “They died eight days apart, right as we were working up this music. I waded through a river of darkness during that period and I damn near drowned in it, but when I came out the other side, I was so full of gratitude.” The ten song journey leads listeners through his transition from son to husband and father, through grief and ultimately, back to joy.

ABOUT RON POPE:
Pope made a name for himself in the early days of social media with the viral success of his song, ‘A Drop in the Ocean’ – which was shared completely organically and promoted independently, garnering collectively over one billion streams, causing his album, Daylight, to go platinum in the US and double-platinum in Sweden. Instead of stalling, Pope’s career has soared to new heights with each subsequent release.

Once a die-hard New Yorker, Pope ultimately landed in Nashville where his songwriting and production are a natural fit for the Americana, roots, and country communities. His last full album, Bone Structure (2020), received laudatory coverage from Rolling Stone, Billboard, CMT, Relix, The Tennessean, and more. Last year he landed in Nashville Scene’s 12 Artists to Watch in 2022 list and released his 5-song EP, It’s Gonna Be A Long Night, supported by a US tour with sold out shows in Chicago, New York City, Denver, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Nashville and Minneapolis.

Most recently, Pope released an alternate, sped up version of his hit, ‘A Drop In The Ocean’, after the song made a remarkable resurgence on TikTok and elsewhere. One TikTok video created by @uhohtwins uses Pope’s song, ‘The Good Old Days’, and has reached over 16.5 million views.
