FALSE ADVERTISING

“… One of SXSW’s revelations, delivering raw, emotion-laced grunge with serious staying power …” DIY

“… Rising DIY garage punks False Advertising are rightly turning heads with their unique blend of feral grunge and slacker rock; one of Manchester’s most exciting new artists…” NME

In the grand scheme of young bands to care about, Manchester-based alternative trio False Advertising present a tantalising prospect. With three years together spent bubbling under the surface of the UK music scene garnering kudos for their chaotic live shows and self-made releases, their niche is now carved, and the stage set for something bigger. 2018 has seen Robert Smith of The Cure personally invite them to play his Meltdown festival; Steve Lamacq praising their ferocity upon catching their SXSW set; EverythingEverything endorsing them as “their favourite new band” live on BBC Radio One; and guitarist Jen Hingley being voted 8th Best New Guitarist in The World by Total Guitar. Venting heightened emotions of united frustration, whilst deftly mixing grunge with alternative rock, lyrically False Advertising are half pop-culture-junkie, half moronic-anti-anthem; the instrument-swapping trio’s songs laced with joyful catharsis and dissonance; their rotating line-up of front-person and drummer fostering both inclusivity and unpredictability.

HANDS OFF GRETEL

… If you’re a fan of grunge, riot grrrl, powerful female vocals and catchy distortion, then Hands Off Gretel are a band that need to be on your radar – like right now; the best alternative rock band to come out of the UK in years …” LOUDER THAN WAR

… One of the most exciting new bands in the UK right now …” ALTERNATIVE PRESS

Hands Off Gretel are a sassy alt-rock / grunge pop band from South Yorkshire, with a reputation for live shows that are as visually compelling as they are musically. The band have completed four headline UK tours and played UK festivals such as Download, Isle of Wight, Rebellion and Camden Rocks, headlined the Loud Women Festival in London, and have also toured Germany and the Netherlands. With a new album due in 2019, the band have recently released two DIY videos, both of them winning Track of the Week at Classic Rock Magazine and earning airplay at Kerrang, Planet Rock and BBC Introducing.

BROODERS

“… One of the most exciting bands to emerge from the scene, with their pell-mell assault of fuzzed up guitars and killer tunes …” THE CRACK

“… Daring, dangerous and dirty in places, tranquil and melodic in others, Brooders have mastered the art of versatility…” REBEL CULTURE

Combining chaotic heavy riffs with a swirling psychedelic edge, the psych-grunge three piece Brooders are an experience you won’t soon forget. Having found their feet the traditional way, Brooders have gigged and toured the UK relentlessly for the last year, testing the waters with an endless stream of musical exploration and rigorous song craft. Having released their latest single Breathe in November 2018 Brooders have received critical acclaim nationwide for their charmingly dark exterior and their brutal and intense song craft. With a knack for the wild, weird and wonderful, Brooders have left a trail of destruction in venues up and down the country, and have gained a reputation for ear splitting, mind blowing and out of this world live performances. Having played the likes of Sound City, Y Not, Dot to Dot and Tramlines Festivals, in the last year alone, Brooders have also been championed by the likes of BBC Introducing Yorkshire and Sheffield, Amazing Radio and Sine FM on their conquest to deliver their sonic whiplash far and wide.

FAUX PAS

“… Faux Pas quickly set the mood with a pulsating set featuring a charismatic performance by vocalist Reuben Cowl; his desperate vocals on We Were Friends captured the attention of the crowd, and you could not take your eyes off the quartet for the rest of their set …” GLOBAL SOUND GROUP MUSIC

WE WERE FRIENDS video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vCIzPoP4QI

Faux Pas will claw their way into your every waking thought and make you beg for more. Taking influence from the Riot Grrrl movement, alongside bands like Placebo, they have taken their twisted brand of Indie Punk to the Reading and Leeds Festivals, Kendal Calling and BBC Radio 1. Exploring the myth of fame, the Manchester / York quartet will bring back punk and empower the disenfranchised.

HOUSEHOLD DOGS

“… This is the real deal; no ifs no buts, just click play and hear for yourself. A straight 10 out of 10…” TOM ROBINSON / BBC 6 MUSIC

“… We haven’t had much like it in the uploader for some time; we love it, it’s so good…” ALAN RAW / BBC INTRODUCING

Household Dogs will usher you into their own raw reality. Marrying alternative rock and Americana, the Leeds five-piece create melodic backdrops onto which they paint decisively honest stories. From their performances at the 2018 Reading and Leeds Festivals to supporting Blinders at their sold-out Leeds show, Household Dogs have swiftly become recognised for their ungovernable live performances.

ADORE//REPEL

… A debut album of this calibre in such a volatile industry is something to be marveled at; unique, thought-provoking and intense. They have a very bright future ahead …” THIS IS SOUNDCHECK

… This really is something special; it’s so good it transcends all music tastes …” LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE

FRACTURES / IN TIME video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY_JlZ3MNCk&feature=youtu.be

ADORE//REPEL are a self-funded four-piece from Wakefield, West Yorkshire; a fiercely independent band with their own record label, their own record shop and café bar, their own studio – which they built themselves – who operate without a booking agent or manager, and embrace everything that has always been so healthy about the DIY ethic. Without resorting to the machinations of the music industry, they have previously self-booked several full UK tours, along the way selling every bit of merchandise they took with them; performed three sell out tours in Iceland; played the Reading and Leeds Festivals; made the BBC Introducing Top Ten Sessions list; released their debut album EMPTY ORCHESTRA on their own label to huge acclaim; and have now played a headline tour of America.

BLOODHOUND

“… A wave of pile driving noise torn from the souls of QOTSA and Royal Blood…” BIRMINGHAM WIRE

“… Bloodhound have evolved their handcrafted melodies into sludgy, high-octane and intense forms of modern day grunge…” COUNTERACT

FRSTRTD video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsaY6QqXW2M

Bloodhound are a three-piece grunge-rock band from Hull taking influence from the likes of modern rock and classic grunge bands like Queens of The Stone Age, Royal Blood, Alice In Chains and Drenge. Their new single, FRSTRTD, is a collaboration between themselves and Leeds based psych-grunge trio Brooders, who feature on the track as well having produced, mixed and mastered the project. Their sound delivers monstrous riffs and mammoth choruses alongside psychedelic noise that twists their songs into fast-paced utopia.
