Loaded with the cavaliering spaghetti western-tinged thrills’n’spills that witnessed its high-octane predecessor “Honey” receive nationwide radio play on BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson, Steve Lamacq), BBC Radio Wales (Janice Long) and Radio X (Ross Buchanan, Gordon Smart, John Kennedy), “Would You Rather Be Lonely?” is another surefire hit single in waiting.
With interloping desert guitar lines, tribal chants and a lonesome trumpet-line calling to mind the solitary notions of The Last Post, “Would You Rather Be Lonely?” is another epic release from a band bristling with ideas and bustling for the big time.
“Would You Rather Be Lonely?” is accompanied by an emotionally stirring new video, filmed on the iconic Matthew Street of their Liverpool hometown which explore the veins of loneliness that run throughout the song. Offering further insight on the video Red Rum Club frontman Fran Doran says:
‘Matador’ was recorded at the infamous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, with added production assistance from Chris Taylor.

With a strong sense of camaraderie and a remarkable DIY work ethic, Red Rum Club have toured the UK extensively, learning the ropes of booking, managing, recording, and of course performing duties entirely independently as they slowly edged towards their dreams of a releasing their debut album. 100% Grassroots, authentic and with a sound and vision defined completely on their terms, Red Rum Club are completely thereal deal and needless to say adoring fans haven’t be hard to come-by. With their frenetic live shows and now-notorious guerrilla gigs in the North-West quickly becoming the stuff of local legend (just check out the band’s roof-top performance of ‘Calexico’ and ‘Angeline’ for Signature Live), RRC have already amassed a loyal fan-base in their native Liverpool and across the wider nation.
