The latest release from the So Cal quartet P.O..D. Circles hits the shelves on the 16th November and it is an absolute cracker. Their first release on three years under a new label seems to have given them a new lease of life and this is vintage P.O.D.

Eleven tracks of a musical masterclass ranging from Nu Metal to Reggae. The opener “Rockin’ With The Best” is a straight up rap metal classic and a real throwback to what brought them to the table in the first place and has an air of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. “Always Southern California” is a reggae infused smash that has you rocking to its infectious beat.

“Circles” is as smooth and groovy a title track you will find but it hides a serious message about the dangers and hardships associated with drugs. “Panic Attack” is one of the best tracks on the album, a mash up of old style distorted punk metal crossed with a kind of Cypress Hill feel with a reggae hook midway through, a real attention grabber. “Fly Away” is a real easy listener, something that would not be a miss on a reggae album and it is most certainly not lost here. “Listening For Silence” is another signature P.O.D. track packed full of groovy killer riffs and a steady back beat that makes you realise why these guys have been around so long and why they seem to get better with every new offering.

“Soundboy Killa” is up there with some of the best P.O.D. songs every written, a hip/hop metal mash up that just screams what these guys are about, hard hitting whether its full on metal or reggae infused hip/hop rock. “Home” closes out the album with a fast paced hard hitting number that smashes you in the face and leaves you looking for more.

Circles is out 16th November and is a must for all P.O.D. lovers and even those that aren’t.
