OUT NOW: Liverpool groove rockers ATTIC THEORY release debut EP ‘The Sign Of An Active Mind’

Combining former members of Matchstickmen, Rain May Fall and Limehawk, Liverpudlian groove rock sextet ATTIC THEORY are thrilled to welcome ‘The Sign Of An Active Mind’.

Seething with roaring vocals, beautifully ingenious melodies, thunderous guitars and relatable lyrical content, Attic Theory’s highly-anticipated debut EP has finally released via release via the band’s own record label, ThunderGun Records, and is available to stream and download now.

Crowned ‘Best New Band’ at Planet Rock Radio‘s ‘The Rocks 2020’ awards, Attic Theory’s six-track EP includes their two previously released singles, ‘Your Light’ and ‘My Own Design’ – a track praised to be a “brilliant bit of work“ by DEF LEPPARD‘s legendary frontman Joe Elliot. Also included is the high energy teaser track ‘Cold Hard Reality’, which Attic Theory frontman Lewis Wright explains is a song written about an explosive reaction against betrayal.

“Imagine that you’ve kept your head down, done as your told, followed the rules and then, in a split second, you get a sinking feeling in your gut. Fight or flight kicks in, and it’s in that moment that you realise the truth; That you’ve been stabbed in the back. You are that angry, one look will make the world burn… but you are in a place where you can’t do anything about it.”

Recorded at the Motor Museum Recording Studios and produced by Loïc Gaillard (Revival Black, Ashen Reach), The EP’s title was chosen to reflect Attic Theory’s creative process, as Wright explains:

“We work as one, as a collective mind, a hive mind. It’s how we develop our signature. We draw inspiration from the chaos of the world and harness our combined energies to write each song. We write songs we all like and songs we all feel.”

Since forming in late 2017, Attic Theory have performed a selection of high profile support slots for The Soapgirls, Saving Abel, Psycho Village, Tragedy, Derange, Elvana and Seattle legends Candlebox and have performed at Rock N’ Roll Marathons, Biker Festivals and horror and tattoo Conventions across the country. The band toured with Elvana (Elvis fronted Nirvana) at a variety of O2 Academy venues and also hit the road with American Rockers, Tantric across the UK and Europe.
