‘Part gig, part festival, part immersive experience’ – Lauren Laverne
Wednesday 22 September – As the opening nights of One Night Records: Snake Oil draw ever closer, audiences today have the opportunity to take an exclusive first insight into the six magical worlds set within a maze of beautiful railway tunnels in London Bridge. A brand-new trailer reveals the wonders of the new show teasing the neon’s of Rock ‘n’ Roll, the languid luxury of the smoky jazz club and the dusty shack where a lone bluesman plays.
One Night Records presents: Snake Oil will open on Thursday, 23 September 2021. Tickets are available now via www.onenightrecords.com
Brand-new images and drone footage showcase the journey audiences can expect as the immersive show takes them through the arches in London Bridge, experiencing the sounds of the UK’s finest musical talent paired with expertly designed rooms for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and a true live music time machine.
Managing director of One Night Records, Tim Wilson discussed the power of Snake Oil’s immersive experience on Lauren Laverne’s BBC Radio 6 Music show this morning: “When you love a type of music, you also love the people, the places, the memories, and the legends behind the music? It’s our modern mythology, it’s our cosmos, it’s how we choose our tribe. So doesn’t it make sense that music works better if it’s in the setting it was born in. That’s how our show Snake Oil was born.”
“A lone bluesman with a resonator guitar and a harmonica on a dusty Missouri juke joint that sells chilled beer and slugs of whisky, is… well, bluesier. And baddest-band-on-eight-legs rock‘n’roll needs a TV studio with great big neons, and unidyne mics. It’s just… more fun. It asks you a little question – can you get lost in the music? And if you can, there’s whole worlds to discover at One Night Records!”
One Night Records, which launched to critical acclaim in October 2020 is returning bigger and better than ever, as audiences will now have the chance to freely explore its vibrant and spellbinding immersive worlds of live music. As Lauren Laverne titled the event on her show, One Night Records is “part gig, part festival, part immersive adventure”.
