Today, one of Australia’s most celebrated new acts, Ocean Alley, announced their 2019 full US headline tour, including stops at The Echo in Los Angeles and Rough Trade in Brooklyn, New York. Hot off the heels of their recent stint supporting rising star, Tash Sultana, this fall in North America, Ocean Alley arecoming back in early summer to captivate even more audiences with their soulful melodies and infectious blend of psychedelic-surf-rock. While stateside this past November, the band stopped by Chicago Music Exchange to gracefully play through the single “Knees”, which originally appeared on their sophomore album, Chiaroscuro, that came out earlier this year. In an interview following the session with Chicago Music Exchange, the band hinted at recording a new album, giving fans new and old something else to look forward to. Tickets for the tour will be on sale Friday, December 14th at 10am local time.

Speaking on the potential of new music the band stated:

“Next years there’s definitely another album in the works. Just got to get it out of our heads and onto a record!”

Hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Ocean Alley – Baden Donegal (vocals), Angus Goodwin (guitar), Nic Blom (bass), Lach Galbraith (keys/vocals), Mitch Galbraith (guitar) and Tom O’Brien (drums) – have perfected an enchanting blend of psych, surf, reggae-infused rock. The group creates cruise worthy tunes with massive soaring choruses and have been carving out their place in the international music scene with their relentless touring schedule in support of the new album. The year will see the band play 96 shows around the world, visiting 10 countries to perform in 60 different cities.

Rounding out their biggest year yet, Ocean Alley have just wrapped up their final North American shows supporting Tash Sultana, before returning home bring in the new year at Falls Festival. They’ll rejoin Tash in 2019 on support duties during her Australian tour throughout February and March, followed by returning to New Zealand for headline shows, their first since August 2017. Their acclaimed second albumChiaroscuro debuted at #15 on the ARIA Chart, and was awarded the coveted triple j Feature Album, with the station proclaiming “Ocean Alley have surfed their way to ‘Next Big Thing’ status.” The record is available now on Spotify and Apple and you can purchase the album on vinyl here.
