“Not only a great album, one full of rock steady vibes, the sounds of funk-punk past, reggae groove, soulful moves, and Two Tone sass, all being upgraded for a new audience, but a great tribute too. KAI, in this case, stands for Kevin Anand Itwaru, the band’s trumpet player who sadly passed away just before this album was recorded. I think it is safe to say that the band has done him proud” –The Big Takeover
New York based Nonstop To Cairo is August “ASH” Harris (vocals,) Nick Diamond (guitar/vocals,) Alex Turner (drums/vocals,) Ed Nevin (Bass guitar).
These guys have completely perfected the art of blending different genres, and their sound is both fresh and nostalgic. As a listener, you can’t help but feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem, with a sound that takes you back to the mid-90s punk rock scene but also feels unique and innovative” –Folk N Rock
“Fusing numerous genres their new release KAI reflects the band’s ear for melody and ability to make seemingly conflicting sounds mesh seamlessly together” —Punktuation!
Their new album KAI is named as a tribute to the band’s trumpet player/keyboardist Kevin Anand Itwaru, whose initials make up the album title. Itwaru passed away tragically just before KAI was recorded, “KAI is a celebration of life, dedicated to our friend, brother, and former member Kevin Anand Itwaru who passed away in 2020. The project is a great portrayal of the vision we created with him, as our sound is ever-evolving. KAI is about the ups and downs of life, music, loss, and the connection needed to persevere, shares guitarist Diamond.
