London, October 15th 2021 – The Music Venue Trust are auctioning 4 posters designed by Baba Youngblood, a Newcastle-based artist making art inspired by his favourite music & films. The 4 posters have all been signed by Mani, the bassist of The Stone Roses, and will be unveiled one by one every Friday over the coming weeks, with the first ‘Elephant Stone’ opening the auction today at 11am. Bidding for the first poster will close on October 22nd.

The posters have been donated in memory of Denise Johnson, the Manchester-born singer noted for her vocal work with Primal Scream on their ‘91 album Screamadelica, who passed away last year. The money raised will be going towards helping 3 grassroots music venues in Manchester – Night & Day, Pop in Hyde, and Star & Garter.

A previous fundraiser for Denise fetched £26K which was donated to the Music Venue Trust.

“All pieces are influenced by The Stone Roses and signed by Mani. I’m honoured to play my small part in helping music venues recover post Covid shut down and keep the magic of music alive for future generations.” – Baba Youngblood
