OUT NOW VIA MINISTRY OF SOUND/ SONY MUSIC
Having recently sold-out Camden Assembly with his headline show, rising soul-pop singer-songwriter Moss Kena returns with new single ‘Begging’, released via Ministry of Sound/ Sony Music.
Hot off the heels from a sold-out headline show at Camden Assembly, rising soul-pop singer-songwriter Moss Kena has returned with new track ‘Begging’, out now via Ministry of Sound/ Sony Music.
Co-produced by Grammy-nominated and BRIT award-winning producer Mark Crew (Rag’n’Bone Man, Katy Perry), Bastille frontman Dan Smith and Dan Priddy (James Arthur) ‘Begging’ is a pop-tinged stadium-ready anthem that delves deep into themes of forgiveness and emotive honesty. Offering moments of tender intimacy with empowering harmony work, the new record shows Moss in a more vulnerable light, using the track as a way of letting fans into his personal life enabling them to connect with his music on a deeper level.
Speaking on the track, Moss says: “Begging, is about understanding you’ve done wrong. An apologetic statement asking for forgiveness. Admitting you’ve been foolish and learning from your mistakes”.
On collaborating with Moss, Dan and Mark both said: “We first heard Moss when we were played the song ‘Square One’ which we loved. We were blown away by his voice and really liked the mix of influences in his music. It sounded totally fresh. So of course we jumped at the chance to write a song together and ‘Begging’ is what came out of a really fun day together”.
It’s been a whirlwind few months for Moss Kena recently performing at Paris’ Bastille Sound Festival, as well as dropping his infectious bop ‘You And Me’ featuring Algerian born, Tottenham raised Miraa May, and Compton rapper, Buddy which saw immediate support from 1XTRA’s Mistajam and Twin B, as well as Radio 1’s Annie Mac.
An artist that is really coming into his own, Moss and his music continues to rise and resonate across the music industry and beyond. Supporting the likes of Rita Ora, Jess Glynne and Bastille, Moss’ music has been championed across BBC Radio 1 (achieving an introducing playlist addition for single ‘Square One’), 1XTRA and Beats 1 as well as nods of support from Zane Lowe, Elton John and Kendrick Lamar.
