MOSH AGAINST CANCER REVEAL FULL LINE UP FOR MACCOV 2019!
Mosh Against Cancer Festival announced a few weeks ago that this year will be the last ‘MACCOV’ for the foreseeable future.
Anyone that thought they would be going out quietly will be sorely mistaken.
2019 sees the biggest line up to date with a few returning favourites and a plethora of first timers!
This final announcement adds a whole new dimension to the Mosh Against Cancer festivities.
Mosh Against Cancer sadly announce that Skybrudd have had to step out of their planned performance, the vacant slot has been filled with the incredible Ashen Crown who will tear the roof off the Arches Venue on the Sunday. On top of this change Mosh Against Cancer announce the addition of the fantastic Sanguine who step into the coveted Saturday headline slot, Sanguine performed at MACCOV 2017 as special guests and put on a crushing performance.
MACCOV booker Chris said “in 2017 Sanguine were on tour with Hellyeah in the UK and on the night they played for us they also played 200 miles away at one of the Hellyeah tour shows, came off stage, got in a van and arrived here just in time to take to the stage and play …they totally owned the stage, we knew right then we would have them back.”
Joining them to round out the Saturday we have aggressive riff monsters Callous Hands who caught the eye of the promoters when they performed and reached the Grand Final of Metal 2 The Masses Coventry.
Filling the vacant opening slots on the Friday and Sunday respectively are Staffordshire heavyweights Headpress and Coventry death-doom Chaplain.
Adding a huge slice of groove to the Thursday, Obey step into the Special guest slot.
Local grunge act Kharma open what has been traditionally ‘day one’.
That’s right! What was traditionally day one is now day two as MACCOV have added a 5th and very different day to this, its final year.
“Not so much mosh against but certainly rock against Cancer, we have wanted to add an acoustic outdoor stage to the weekend since day 1 but have never been granted permission from the local Council due to noise restriction. So we just thought this is the last chance so lets just bring it inside on the Wednesday Night and go out doing the one thing we haven’t before done.” Said Chris.
Playing this special acoustic night are 4 folks known well on the local scene; Topher o’Meagher best known as guitarist in Coventry legends Gehtika, more recently The Face Of Ruin and now the frontman of fantastically weird Shaking Corpses, Tom Harris member of punk outfit Face Up, Andy Sweeney frontman of Coventry heavy hitters Pelugion and the fabulous singer songwriter Glyn Finch.
Once again aiming to raise as much as possible for Teenage Cancer Trust, Mosh Against Cancer Festival Runs from Wednesday 26th June to Sunday 30th June 2019 at the legendary Arches Venue.
