New album in Spring 2019

The Riven releases their second single ‘Shadow Man’ from the bands upcoming album set for release on The Sign Records spring 2019.

A powerful track of pure rock music. The track holds a fateful atmosphere with strong story telling. With Tottas vocals in the center of the mix, Riven showcase an impressive track that holds elements of progressive, psychedelic and classical rock music.

Check out the lyric video here:

“a pan-European heavy rock experience if you must, but The Riven will be another name on 2019‘s most anticipated list, and I‘ll hope to have more to come on it as we get closer to the release.”
– The Obelisk

“Make no mistake this band are going to blow up in stratospheric proportions”
– The Sludgelord

In 2018 The Riven went to Madrid, not to spend time under the Spanish sun but rather curled up in the valved cellar studio at Holy Cuervo Studios. In ten days they powered through the record‘s nine songs producing an album that in the words of the drummer Olof Axegärd  “Is loud, is rock, is soul, and prog, it has it all!”. The Riven will be releasing their highly anticipated first full length with The Sign Records in the spring of 2019. The first single from the album is called ‘Fortune Teller’. Produced by Ola Ersfjord (Lucifer, Primordial, Dead Lord) the album manages to merge the diverse influences of its four members into a solid unit of Rock and Roll, that will leave no one oblivious.

Märvel release “Sultans Of Swing” single

New album in Spring 2019

The first Friday each month Märvel is releasing another of their Guilty Pleasure from their upcoming album. Today the band release their take on the classic Dire Straits track ‘Sultans Of Swing’, the track is now released on all digital platforms. Märvel, the Swedish powertrio will release their new album ‘Guilty Pleasure’ in the spring 2019! Up until the release the band will release a new Guilty Pleasure the first Friday each month.

The King, the Vicar and the Burger about their song of choice:

“Wow, what an epic song! This song has an instantly recognizable sound that immediately sets a moody yet uplifting atmosphere. You might say it has been destroyed by cover bands (like us!) or that it‘s gubb-wanker-rock at it‘s worst but after a couple of bag-in-boxes you know you‘ll be working that fender air-guitar like there‘s no tomorrow. Most people probably don‘t know what the lyrics are about, but they really paint a vivid image of a tired club scene where the old farts keep doing their thing while the young ones couldn‘t care less. This band‘s first three records are 78% fantastic but then things started going southbound with too big production and corny lyrics, at the same time that‘s when they reached their commercial peak. This song introduced the world to a fantastic guitarist who then went on to influence zillions of new guitarists. Maybe not by his looks?”

Get it here:

The upcoming album is released by The Sign Records in the spring of 2019. The album’s called ‘Guilty Pleasures‘ and contains 10 great songs that have all been given the Märvel rock ‘n’ roll upgrade. We know you like the tracks even if you perhaps don‘t admit to it yet. The band is currently hosting a rock quiz on their facebook page counting down the days up until they expose their next GUILTY PLEASURE – with a new song released the first Friday in each month up until the album release. Märvel released their latest album ‘At the Sunshine Factory‘ in 2017 on The Sign Records. Before that the band have had successes with albums such as ‘Warhawks of War‘ (Killer Cobra Records), ‘Hadal Zone Express‘ (KCR) and ‘The Hills Have Eyes‘ (KCR). The band is today one of the most popular rock ‘n’ roll experiences a stage can host in Scandinavia.

A guilty pleasure is something, such as a film, a television program or a piece of music, that one enjoys despite feeling that it is not generally held in high regard, or is seen as unusual or weird. For example, a person may secretly like a movie knowing that the movie is poorly made and generally seen as “not good.” (Märvelpedia)

The new album will be released by The Sign Records during the spring of 2019.

The Great Discord returns with new music in 2019. The band will release their new EP in March. Today the band unleashes their first single ‘Army Of Me‘ from the upcoming EP. The Great Discord covers the classic Björk song and have fitted the track straight into the bands dark world, and storytelling. The Swedish band that describes their music as ‘Progressive Death Pop‘ holds a captivating sound on the new track. There is a grave atmosphere over the recording that is built around the patented heart rhythm beat of the original. The Great Discord cuts right to the chase with the new track.

EP out in march on The Sign Records.

Check out the video here:

”Being admirers of Björk since The Sugarcubes, it felt completely right to cover her, as the song so aptly represents everything fierce and dangerous about the concept of Ire. The other reason is of course to keep you all warm during the winter as we prepare to release new music early next year.” – The Great Discord

The band features notable musicians who have worked with or are working with bands like GHOST, MCC (Magna Carta Cartel), TID, PG. LOST, DEAD SOUL, VANHELGD and many others. Returning from tours with GHOST, KVELERTAK, KATATONIA and GHOST BATH, they have wowed reviewers and concertgoers across Europe with their theatrically enticing and energetic performances.

Completely self produced and mixed/mastered by Aksel Holmgren (Drums), the band shows they are a force to be reckoned in the continued development of hard rock and metal.
