Masked Intruder are back but they’re not but they kinda are in their own way. Having released “III” in 2019 they decided to release a deluxe version of their biggest success to date, on it are the twelve original great fast-paced love laced pop-punk tracks that they have become renowned for, served with a side of three new songs, one of which is a killer version of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation”, speeded up guitars and crashing drums are the order of the day as they the attitude and power while tearing through the track like a tornado. “If You Would Hold My Hand” is a really infectious track opening with a chugging riff that carries on throughout, snappy drums and an unbelievable catchy chorus, I defy anyone not to tap a foot or nod the auld head to this. “Marry Me” is a punchy bass lead track that is everything these guys are all about, a fast-paced pogo fest about love. A cracking way to close an album that is already a classic that just got a whole lot better with these new additions.
On III, the band – Intruder Blue, Intruder Green, Intruder Red and Intruder Yellow – recruited lead producer/engineer Roger Lima (who also plays bass in Less Than Jake) as well as co-producer Mike Kennerty (who plays guitar in some band called The All-American Rejects) and recorded the album at Lima’s studio, The Moat House in Gainesville, Florida.
Masked Intruder has released ‘III Turbo’ today through Pure Noise Records.
