Lost in Japan – New EP & Single Out Today (Indie/Pop/Rock)

Following the success of their first single of 2020, Lost In Japan once again comes off strong with their new EP Somedays.

Lost In Japan returns with their new Somedays EP out today.

From the get-go “Troy” begins with an incredibly upbeat and punchy drum groove that is soon accompanied by some infectious indie-pop melodies that could be compared to the likes of bands such as Tokyo Police Club and Modest Mouse. The song is inspired by the ancient Greek novel, The Iliad, reflecting themes of divide and departure. Though inspired by a story of ancient times, Lost In Japan provides listeners with a relatable depiction of love through the use of metaphorical lyrics.

The EP’s lead single, “Disguise,” is an alternative rock track about seeing someone you love change before your eyes in an instant. Switching things up, “Disguise” features guitarist Chris Hoekstra on lead vocals instead of frontman Addison Johnson.  https://soundcloud.com/lostinjapanofficial/disguise-1/s-AKovCPfrI2w

Without sacrificing the likeable elements of their past releases, Lost In Japan begins to explore and expand new sounds and elements by working with new producers for this single. Somedays was produced by JUNO-Award winning producer, Dan Brodbeck, at Sugar Shack Studios in London, ON, as well as Dean Nelson at OIART in London, ON.

Brodbeck’s expertise truly shines with both the complete unity of the rhythm section as well as his ability to let each element of instrumentation breathe on its own all while at the same time coming together as one beautifully polished sound.

Following the release of Somedays, Lost in Japan will perform multiple digital performances across Canada to debut the new EP.
