SHARES A NEW LIVE VERSION OF ‘CARVING CANYONS’
RECORDED FOR WXPN AT WORLD CAFE LIVE – LISTEN HERE

UK HEADLINE TOUR STARTS NEXT MONTH – INCLUDES A LONDON SHOW AT KOKO

Lissie today shares a new live version of ‘Carving Canyons’, the title track from last year’s critically acclaimed Americana-tinged indie-folk album. Recorded for WXPN at World Cafe Live, it is released as Lissie prepares to embark upon her first UK headline tour since the release of the album, which starts in Portsmouth on February 14th.

As we’ve come to expect from Lissie’s live performances, this new version of ‘Carving Canyons’ features a slightly different arrangement from the original but shines within the warmth and intimacy of its live setting. Lissie’s tender vocals amplify the depth of her lyrics, which are further heightened by harmonies and electric guitar courtesy of Pete Sieve.

Lissie explains, “I love the song’s creation story, as I was talking about life with Sarah Buxton and Kate York. Talking about family and personal struggles around a campfire with a guitar, we collectively and quickly wrote it. There is beauty in pain. It is a part of life and a part of our life story. Good & bad, what we go through creates the landscape of which to view a lifetime. If I’d never broken open, there’d be nothing to see. There are so many facets to the richness of human experience, emotion, resiliency and grace”.

This version of ‘Carving Canyons’ was recorded during the WXPN session in Philadelphia last October. The set featured songs primarily from the album, including the previously released ‘Night Moves’ – the original of which was playlisted at Radio 2 and a Radio 2 Jo Whiley session confirmed for next month.

Having last performed in the UK with a run of in-store acoustic performances to celebrate the release of ‘Carving Canyons’,Lissie will return to play the following shows.
