Kyros – ‘In Motion’

Following the digital release of ‘Celexa Dreams’ on 19th June via White Star Records, London-based synth-rock outfit KYROS are pleased to confirm new release dates and pre-orders for physical copies of their third studio album.

‘Celexa Dreams’ will release as a digipak CD (complete with 12 page lyric booklet) on 14th August, with a double, 180gsm black vinyl with printed lyric insert arriving shortly after, on 9th October. Both the CD and vinyl versions are available to pre-order now via Kyros’ merch store and the White Star Records website and will also be available in all good online and physical stores.

To celebrate the renewed release dates for physical copies of ‘Celexa Dreams’, Kyros have paired the announcement with the release of a brand new video single, presented in the form of the percussion driven, 80s-inspired album opener ‘In Motion’.

Kyros vocalist Adam Warne gives insight into the stunning video for the band’s latest single release:

“The video for ‘In Motion’ was a chance to make something that had a sense of nostalgia and reminisce to it, in much the same way the song itself certainly gives off a specific vibe. Revolving around the use of VHS tapes and the effects and visual artefacts that come along with that, it’s a simple concept but hopefully one that will evoke a certain mood. I made it with the concept of both old VHS Karaoke tapes and the soft of early basic CG artwork designs you’d see on black tape covers in mind. Those geometric shapes, bold colours and strange sense of complete irrelevance to anything other than being definitively of ‘that time’.”

Standing as one of many bands that has adapted to a new professional landscape in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, news of the renewed physical release date follows Kyros’ journey through ‘Celexa Streams’, a virtual “tour” of streamed performances designed to promote their latest studio album in the face of severely limited touring options. Over the past few months, ‘Celexa Streams’ has become favourably viewed as an opportunity for Kyros fans to gather together with a shared love of the band’s music – with more dates to come through the months of July, August and September.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the reception the album and our streamed performances have had so far”, comments Warne. “It’s been absolutely incredible and given us all a real sense of a pride and motivation. We knew we were taking risks with this album, so it’s safe to say that we were incredibly anxious over how people would respond to it – but it’s been incredibly positive thus far. It’s not over yet, though; Holding the physical version you’ve been collectively working towards as a band for years will mark yet another huge proud milestone moment for us, and it’s one that I am especially incredibly excited for.”

“Despite the challenges of suddenly needing to change our release plans for ‘Celexa Dreams’ when lockdown hit, both the band and ourselves were keen to get the music out there”, offers White Star Records’ Chris Hillman on the album’s renewed physical release date. “We therefore went ahead on streaming and download sites and the reactions from fans, press and radio has been amazing. We are now really pleased that we are able to get the physical editions out there for those that prefer their music that way.”

Bright, colourful and brimming with nostalgic influence, ‘Celexa Dreams’ is available to stream and purchase digitally via this link, with phsyical copies now available to pre-order via Kyros’ merch store and the White Star Records website.
