Killswitch Engage returns with yet another absolute banger of an album in the form of Atonement, an eleven-track beast that consumes you from the off. KSE has had one of the most consistent formulas over the years regardless who has been at the helm on vocals, Jesse Leach or Howard Jones (who also makes a guest appearance on this album) these guys produce solid recording after solid recording. Atonement is their eighth full-length studio recording and as ever as cohesive and fluid and their previous seven, KSE just nails it every time with brutal riffs and melodic structures that appeal way beyond their genre.

The majestic guitar work of Adam Dutkiewicz [guitar, production], Joel Stroetzel [guitar], Mike D’Antonio [bass], Justin Foley [drums], along with Leach’s powerhouse vocals are created this beautiful melting pot and signature sound that has made KSE such a powerful force over the last two decades. Live they’re an unstoppable force and with Atonement, this will help take that to yet another level. Each track hits harder than the last and elevates an already killer recording to another level.

Leach’s vocal performance is like a man possessed, interchanging between clean and guttural vocals on a whim adds further depth to the already monstrous recording, along with a savage backline with thunderous bass and drums Atonement is an absolute beast of an album.

Continuing on from where the guys left off with Incarnate in 2016, Atonement provides bitchin’ riffs infused with killer vocals all fused together by a melodic backbone and With guest appearances from both Howard Jones and Chuck Billy there is an additional edge to an already solid album. The guys take this on the road with Clutch in the US before they hit Europe and the UK in October.

Out August 16thvia Metal Blade Records, Atonement is an absolute must.
