THE 9-MINUTE SHORT FILM IS TAKEN FROM HEAVEN IN HIDING — OUT NOVEMBER 26 VIA ARISING EMPIRE
It’s IMMINENCE season finale.
Imminence—vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, guitarists Harald Barrett and Alex Arnoldsson, drummer Peter Hanström, and bassist Christian Höijer — will release their fourth full-length, Heaven in Hiding, on November 26 via Arising Empire. Pre-order it here.
Today, they have released their astonishing “season finale “— the video for the single “Chasing Shadows,” which is the last music video from the album cycle. It’s a 9-minute short film — an outstanding cinematic project that challenges the entire concept of how a music video can be performed in these modern times.
Director Pavel Trebukhin and the band invested more time and effort than ever, ensuring the viewer experiences a completely new level of artistic storytelling. The video pushes the boundaries of what’s expected. The band traveled to Kiev, Ukraine, for a week of shooting, while the script was written in collaboration with the director and the band.
“I think we’re at the point where we could have released a music video within the regular concept,” says Barrett. “I guess it would have turned out fine and hopefully people would have enjoyed it — but what about us? Why should we need to repeat ourselves over and over again? I truly believe that outstanding creativity starts beyond the frameworks of how things should be done.”
Heaven in Hiding is an outstanding collection of 13 songs. With an organic approach to honest creativeness, the group delivers an album where each song stands out in character and storytelling, while still connected in a larger concept. The new record undoubtedly displays a musical and visual persona that acknowledges Imminence as ready to take the place as one of the genre’s frontline artists. Following the releases of recent singles “Temptation,” “Heaven in Hiding,” and “Ghost,” Imminence have raised their bar in terms of production value and cinematic vision. Heaven in Hiding presents all the strengths and unique features that Imminence hold. Their dynamic approach finds the band swiftly and gently crossing through genres and creating a universe recognized as their very own.
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered in Sweden by Henrik Udd, an award-winning producer that has worked with Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, and many more. It was written by vocalist/violinist Eddie Berg and guitarist Harald Barrett.
With an album that placed in the Top 100 Official German Album charts, a sold-out run of album release shows, a 100% increase in ticket sales, and doubled venue capacities during the last European headline tour, Imminence are proving to be one of the fastest growing acts in the scene today. Following the release of Turn The Light On: Deluxe Edition, which has acted as a significant milestone for the band, where Imminence took the step from being a promising up ‘n’ comer to an established headline act. Imminence formed in the southern most part of Sweden and have over the years become one of the country’s most promising acts with a diverse sound and universe, embracing everything from metalcore to acoustic sounds. Founded in 2010 by Berg and Barrett when they were just teenagers, the band grew organically with a constantly expanding fanbase all over the world while touring actively in Europe since the release of the band’s breakthrough single “The Sickness”(2015). Imminence have released three studio albums, I (2014), This Is Goodbye (2017), andTurn the Light On (2019).
