IAMWARFACE are a five piece electro-rock group created in London in 2016 by singer, songwriter
and producer Matt Warneford to perform his distinctive brand of energetic and groove based music.
A compelling fusion of 80’s style vocals, abstract guitars, moody multi-layered synth riffs and
pounding drum beats, it melds a wide variety of influences that include Depeche Mode, Gary Numan,
Kasabian, Muse, Nero, Queens of the Stone Age, Tears For Fears, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Black Keys
and MGMT.
The band have released four acclaimed singles to date and toured regularly to promote them, including
recent support slots with Gary Numan that wowed his audience. They have also performed a live
session for BBC Introducing.
A video has just been made available for a single entitled ’Say My Name’, which has already been
used by Sky Sports in its Champions League football coverage. Previously described as an
exhilarating mixture of Muse, Kasabian, Queens Of The Stone Age and Pendulum, the song begins
with a snarling guitar riff before exploding into an inferno of speaker-blowing drums, big synth chords,
stabbing bass, thunderous shredded guitars and sound effects, with Warneford almost shrieking
the opening chorus and alternating his delivery with smoother but no-less impassioned verses.
Dark, atmospheric and sci-fiesque, it deserves to be heard by a wide audience.
‘Say My Name’ will be included on the band’s debut album, ‘Year Of The Dragon’, which is scheduled
for release in September on Warfacesounds Records.
