Announce UK Album Tour

with special guests Florence Black

Following the announcement of their self-titled debut album, set for release on May 3rd, Cambridgeshire’s own rising stars of rock Hollowstar are set to hit the road for their long-awaited UK album tour. The band have announced a run of seven dates stretching from Bridgwater to Edinburgh, with Welsh rockers Florence Black joining as special guests for the duration. British Singer/songwriter Matt Mitchell (Pride, Furyon, Colour of Noise) is also confirmed amongst the supports.

Listeners of Planet Rock and BBC Radio 2 may well be familiar with Hollowstar’s brand of hard-hitting rock, with the each of the album’s first two singles (All I Gotta Say / Let You Down) gracing their airwaves in recent months. The band has also been featured in Classic Rock’s Heavy Rotation and Planet Rock’s ‘Ones to Watch’, garnering massive acclaim in the process and even reaching the top five in the ‘Best New Band’ category at this year’s Planet Rock awards (2019).

The debut album tour will see Hollowstar visiting some of their favourite venues throughout the UK, kicking off with the album launch party in London before heading to Florence Black’s home ground in South Wales. A return to Cambridge is of course on the cards for the Hollowstar boys, with the run ultimately coming to a close north of the border in Edinburgh. The energy in the Hollowstar camp has been palpable in the build-up to the tour; the lads more eager than ever to show the world what they’re really capable of.

The eponymous album is available for pre-order now from the band’s official website, with various formats and bundles on offer. The band said of the upcoming tour, “We are excited to bring the full Hollowstar experience out on the road for the first time and we hope to see as many of you as possible across the seven shows. We’ve tried our best to spread these shows across the country to bring this as close to everyone as possible so you can all see the brand new material live and up close!”

“Hollowstar are the kind of band that exude so much shimmering potential that you’re reassured the future of rock music could well be in safe hands.” *Planet Rock

Surging into the top five in the ‘Best New Band’ category at Planet Rock’s 2019 awards, Hollowstar are carving out their own route to the top, paved with hard-hitting riffs and cemented by melodic yet inherently impactful lyrics. Drawing upon influences including the likes of Thunder, Slash, and Black Stone Cherry, the band’s highly-honed music and Joe’s impressive pipes are entrenched in classic rock, yet rather than just idly regurgitating their influences, Hollowstar’s sound is decidedly fresh and engrained with their own personality.

Formed in 2015 in the market town of St Ives, Cambridgeshire by vocalist/bassist Joe Bonson, his brother Jack Bonson on drums, and dual lead guitarists Phil Haines and Tom Collett, Hollowstar unleashed their debut EP, ‘Some Things Matter’ in 2017, which peaked at no.13 on the iTunes rock chart and led the way to bigger things. In May 2018 they returned to the fold with the acclaimed singles ‘All I Gotta Say’ and ‘Let You Down’, which each picked up plays on both BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show and Planet Rock.

In early 2019 Hollowstar delighted fans with the announcement of their eponymous debut album, released on May 3rd. With a tour alongside Stone Broken opening up the year and a headline UK album tour providing a sensational soundtrack for the summer, the band continue to break down walls, challenge perceptions and most importantly, create great music.

Joe Bonson – Lead Vocals, Bass
