HEDPE Revisit Their Nu Metal Roots On New Single “Waiting”

(Hed) P.E. Revisit Their Nu Metal Roots On New Single “Waiting”

Southern California’s G-Punk veterans, (Hed) P.E. has released their latest single, “Waiting,” on all major music platforms today through Suburban Noize Records. In this track, (Hed) P.E. boldly returns to their Nu Metal roots, delivering thunderous riffs and unforgettable hooks that are a throwback to earlier records such as “Blackout” and “Broke.”

“This one’s a rock banger, and I fell in love with it from the moment I heard the instrumental,” said frontman Jared Gomes. “The song ‘Waiting’ was inspired by my son’s heartbreak. Witnessing your child go through the trials of young love provides a different perspective on things. It allowed me to relive some of my own youthful experiences.”

The release of “Waiting” comes with an animated music video, which serves as the next installment of the animated movie “Detox: Planet Earth.” The film serves as a companion to the band’s latest album where each song from the album becomes another chapter in the film’s storyline. Together, the movie and the album transport fans to a dystopian realm where corporations and the government conspire to exploit the masses for their own personal gain.

“Waiting” is the third single from (Hed) P.E.’s highly anticipated upcoming album, “DETOX” which will officially drop on December 15th via Suburban Noize Records. The album was mixed and mastered by Ulrich Wild (Pantera, Deftones, Static-X), and features cover art and packaging by Jim “Taz” Evans, who has illustrated iconic

concert posters for artists like Nine Inch Nails, Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Foo Fighters. “DETOX” is currently available online for pre-order along with limited edition merchandise HERE.

The origins of “DETOX” began in frontman Jared Gomes’ private studio compound, where he meticulously crafted the tracks with production and songwriting partner Remy Dovianus. The album pays homage to (Hed) P.E.’s G-Punk origins, capturing the frenetic energy and signature elements of their distinctive sound. Ulrich Wild’s masterful mix and master seamlessly melds raw aggression, hip-hop influences, and hardcore vibes to deliver a sonically cohesive experience.

(Hed) P.E. is a G-Punk pioneer, creating their own unique blend of punk-rock, metal, hip-hop, and reggae. With a career spanning over two decades, the band has graced stages worldwide alongside rock giants like Papa Roach and Linkin Park, hardcore legends Suicidal Tendencies, and did a couple of runs on the iconic Ozzfest Tour.

(Hed) P.E. kicks off the DETOX Tour in early November, and are set to join forces with NONPOINT, SUMO CYCO, and VRSTY for “The Million Watts Tour 2023” across America in December.
