UK HEADLINE TOUR THIS OCTOBER

HEALTH released the official music video for “ASHAMED (FEAT. LAUREN MAYBERRY).” Directed by Mynxii White, the video–premiering today via a PAPER Mag feature–serves as the eerie accompaniment to the LA band’s stunning, debut collaboration with Mayberry. The reworking of “ASHAMED,” a standout single from their critically acclaimed album RAT WARS (Loma Vista Recordings), was released digitally in April to praise and support from Revolver, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, FLOOD Magazine, UproxxThe PRP, Under The Radar, and more.

The new video arrives on the heels of a Live at KEXP Session and recent European tour of festivals and headlining dates. Later this month, HEALTH will embark on a headlining Australian summer tour, including shows at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre and Sydney’s Manning Bar. They’ll return to the U.S. for festival shows at Riot Fest (Chicago) and Louder Than Life (Louisville), before they venture back to Europe for more headlining shows. A full itinerary is below and tickets are on-sale HERE.

HEALTH’s long and willfully unconventional career arc has coalesced in RAT WARS, their acclaimed 2023 album (Loma Vista Recordings) that cements them in the lineage of groundbreaking heavy acts like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, who re-drew the borders between metal, electronic and pop music. It could be The Downward Spiral for people with at least two monitors and a vitamin D deficiency. Released digitally in December, and produced by Stint (Oliver Tree, Demi Lovato) and mixed by Lars Stalfors (SALEM, The Neighbourhood), RAT WARS is now HEALTH’s highest streaming album, with 24 million global streams to date. Their fifth LP also debuted at #1 on Apple’s Alternative Top Albums Chart and in the Top 10 of Spotify’s Top Albums Chart, while earning the trio cover stories at Revolver, Kerrang!, and Fuze, as well as guest appearances on Amoeba’s What’s In My Bag, Alternative Press’ Artist Friendly podcast, Comedy Bang Bang’s CBB.FMLoudwire’s Loudwire Nights, Songwriters on Process, Joe Pug’s The Working Songwriter, and more. RAT WARS ended the year on ‘Best Albums of 2023’ lists by Revolver, Alternative Press, New York Magazine/Vulture, MXDWN (#1 Album of 2023), Heavy Consequence, Uproxx, and FLOOD Magazine, among others. Album track “HATEFUL” recently won the ‘Best Record From Games and Interactive Media’ category at A2IM’s 2024 Libera Awards for its appearance in the hit video game ULTRAKILL.

2024 is HEALTH’s busiest year to date. Metal legends Lamb of God, whose guitarist Willie Adler is featured on the menacing RAT WARS track “CHILDREN OF SORROW,” recently announced they will once again team up with HEALTH for a new remix of their track “Laid To Rest” on their Ashes Of The Wake (20th Anniversary Edition) LP due out August 30th, 2024, via Epic Records/Legacy Recordings. In April, HEALTH released their first collaboration with chart-topping rock band Bad Omens and electronic sensation SWARM on another powerhouse track, “THE DRAIN,” from Bad Omens’ CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST] (Sumerian Records). A ‘SELECTED WORKS’ Thematic Album Compilation playlist, featuring the band’s most beloved tracks, was also recently released across all DSPs. In February, HEALTH’s installment for Spotify Singles–a darkly vibrant reworking of Deftones’ classic “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)”–debuted just ahead of their headlining ‘RAT-BASED WARFARE TOUR’ that saw sold-out shows Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Portland, Toronto, Seattle, and San Francisco, among others.

HEALTH recently announced UK headline tour for October 2024. The band who played at Download Festival in the UK last month will start their tour in Birmingham on the 15th October before finishing on the 20th October at O2 Academy Islington in London.

Praise for RAT WARS:

“LA industrial geniuses HEALTH exude menacing melancholy and evident greatness on glowering fifth album.” – Kerrang! (4/5 stars)

“HEALTH have become a full-blown, industrial metal powerhouse” – Metal Hammer (8/10 stars)

“…dark thoughts mesh with enticing melodies, and harsh, distorted noise is draped in soft sheets of reverb. The purview is bleak… but the sound design and production are almost playfully ambitious”  New York Magazine/Vulture (Other Best Albums of 2023)

“They’ve been calling their aggressive, forward-leaning sound ‘noise rock’ since forming in 2005, but there are vibrant elements of industrial, electronic, post-punk, metal and avant-garde… They may have started as a band toiling in underground obscurity, but the guys have seen their music travel not only far, but deeply into the lives of fans reacting to the songs of pain, frustration and understated rage.” – Revolver

“RAT WARS remains as danceable as any of their synth-y goth offerings to date. Pay whatever they’re asking for a ticket to HEALTH’s upcoming tour — stank face and headbanging come free.”  Exclaim! (Best Albums of 2023)

“[RAT WARS] anoints the Los Angeles trio as leaders of the subgenre’s latest wave. With an ear for immersive sonics, mechanistic grit, and heavy-hitting breakdowns, HEALTH know exactly what they’re doing.” – UPROXX

“‘It’s a stunningly wrought album, exploring some of their most personal themes and some of the best music to bear their name” – Distorted Sound (9/10 stars)

“The group’s fifth album continues to solidify their goth-industrial aesthetic while remaining first and foremost a pop album—albeit one wrapped in leather and spikes… some of the strongest standout songs of any HEALTH album to date” – FLOOD Magazine

“…a sonically sound, exhilarating roller-coaster ride that shrewdly assesses the last four years of recorded material and makes a concerted effort to deliver the most punishingly heavy album of their career.” – Sputnik Reviews (4.9/5 stars, Classic)

“… bloody hell, is RAT WARS powerful.” – The Soundboard

“[‘CHILDREN OF SORROW’ & ‘SICKO’] showcase the multi-faceted sound that’s allowed HEALTH to expand their fanbase and crossover conventional genre barriers.” – Heavy Consequence
