Welcomes Exciting New LA Based Alt Rockers,
To The Family

The world’s fastest growing independent record label, Golden Robot Records, continues its upward trajectory into 2019. Starting the year off with a bang, the label recently welcomed guitar icons John Sykes and Gilby Clarke to the family, and is now thrilled to announce their latest signing.

While Golden Robot Records are known for featuring some of rock’s most iconic acts, the label is also committed to ushering in the next generation. It is with that in mind that the label is proud to welcome Los Angeles based 4 piece, Trope, to the family!

Trope formed in 2016, when guitarist/producer Dave Thompsonshowed vocalist Diana Studenberg the embryo of what came to be their first song, Lambs.  The duo spent the next 2 years writing and recording while searching for bandmates who could keep up with the constant time signature changes and feel of their music.

While reminiscent of A Perfect Circle or Tool with female vocals, Trope are much more than that. Their rich textures push them into progressive realms while their melodies keep them rooted in the alternative rock world. Meaning they are just at home playing a track with a dozen time changes or a four on the floor belter. Making their live show a jaw dropping experience.

Trope vocalist, Diana Studenberg comments on the signing “To have the support and faith in something you work so hard to create, that you deeply hope will resonate with others, is a real blessing. We are extremely grateful to Golden Robot Records for their belief in us and fortunate to partner with people who really care and put music first.  We are beyond excited about the future and incredibly thankful to the whole team at the label for this opportunity.

Trope’s sound not only caught the ear of everyone at Golden Robot Records, it also got the attention of studio legend Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) who engineered the bands forthcoming debut, Eleutheromania, with Thompson at the helm producing. David Bottrill (Tool, Peter Gabriel) consulted on the album and mixed it, while Ted Jensen (Green Day, The Eagles) mastered the final product.

The albums title refers to mad zeal or irresistible craving for freedom, a fitting title as
Mark Alexander-Erber, Golden Robot Entertainment Group Founder and President. says of signing Trope, ‘There’s something about Trope that instantly blew me away. They are exactly where modern heavy music is headed and a perfect fit for the label.  Im looking forward to giving Trope the opportunity and freedom to achieve exactly what it is the set out to accomplish.’

Eleutheromania will be released in the very near future.
