NEW ALBUM RELEASES OUT 26.04.19

HARDLINE – Life

The last two years have seen Hardline perform a number of festival and club shows throughout
Europe, and that live energy can certainly be felt on ‘Life’. With 1992’s ‘Double Eclipse’ and 2016’s
‘Human Nature’ acting as chief influences for their new songs, the end result is a perfect blend of
the two and sees the band sound bigger and better than ever. They had entered the studio in
relaxed mood after all their touring, which had also provided the opportunity for newest recruits
Mario Percudani (guitar) and Marco Di Salvia (drums) to gel with the rest of the line-up, consisting
of bassist Anna Portalupi, keyboard player (and songwriter/producer) Alessandro Del Vecchio,
plus the unmistakable voice of band co-founder Johnny Gioeli.

FORTUNE – II

Formed by brothers Richard and Mick Fortune in the late 70’s and cutting a self-titled album, they
subsequently revamped the group with new members such as vocalist Larry ‘L.A.’ Greene (of Top
Gun soundtrack fame) and keyboard player Roger Scott Craig (ex-Liverpool Express), and made a
second self-titled record in 1985 (recently reissued) that is regarded by many as perhaps the best
AOR album ever. The band subsequently remained silent until a number shows as a trio in 2006,
while a full band reunion took place at the Rockingham Festival in Nottingham in 2016 and went so
well that they returned the following year and also signed to Frontiers in the process. The result is
‘II’, an album that will surely prove to be an AOR highlight of 2019.

JIM PETERIK & WORLD STAGE – Winds Of Change

The long-awaited follow-up to a self-titled album released in 2001, ‘Winds Of Change’ features new
songs by Survivor founder Peterik in collaboration with a who’s who of melodic rock stars, including
Kevin Chalfant (ex-The Storm), Dennis DeYoung (ex-Styx), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto), Matthew and
Gunnar Nelson (Nelson), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Lars Safsund and Robert Sall (Work Of Art),
Toby Hitchcock (Pride Of Lions), Mike Reno (Loverboy), Jason Scheff (ex-Chicago) Kevin Cronin
(REO Speedwagon) and a previously unreleased track by the late Jimi Jamison. Peterik explains:
“Listening to voices blending as one has always inspired me, going back to the Beatles and other
great vocal groups. I have always considered myself as much a fan of great bands and artists as an
artist myself, so a project like World Stage is a dream come true since I get to pay homage to those
whose music I love by writing and performing with them. With this new record, I was honoured to
work with some of the best, adapting my writing and production styles to fit a particular act, while also
co-writing many of the songs with the artists appearing. I created World Stage soon after parting ways
with Survivor in 1996 and it was my way of bringing together the melodic rock community. Since then,
every live show has been a total love fest with each featuring an ever changing array of great artists.”
‘Winds Of Change’ continues this tradition and live dates are being planned that will reflect the line-up
of this record.

MICHAEL THOMPSON BAND – Love & Beyond

Michael Thompson is one of the world’s elite session guitarists, with a CV that includes work for
Michael Jackson, Madonna and Whitney Houston. Hailing from New York, he relocated to LA in the
late 70’s to start his career and eventually released ‘How Long’ as the debut album by the Michael
Thompson Band in 1989. With songs written by AOR craftsmen such as Mark Spiro and Jeff Paris,
it featured notable guest musicians such as Pat Torpey (Mr. Big), John Elefante (Kansas) and
Bobby Kimball (Toto), and was produced by Great White associate Wyn Davis. Still regarded as one
of the premiere examples of hi-tech West Coast AOR, it was reissued in 2007 by Frontiers, who also
released a new record by the band in 2012 entitled ‘Future Past’ for which Thompson teamed up with
singer Larry King from the band Soleil Moon. Seven years on, he returns with ‘Love & Beyond’, which
is once again produced by Wyn Davis and features three vocalists in Larry King, Mark Spiro and
Larry Antonino, who also plays bass and is a member of Unruly Child. Another member of that band,
Guy Allison, appears on keyboards.

LEVERAGE – DeterminUs
Preceded by ’The Devil’s Turn’ EP in the summer of 2018, Finnish heavy rockers Leverage now
unleash ‘DeterminUs’, their first full length album in a decade. Defying easy categorisation, they are
neither a power metal or AOR band, nor an 80’s throwback, and for them it is all about making and
playing music with heart and soul while having a blast doing so. With a unique blend of symphonic
and melodic hard rock and a twist of progressive metal, their 2006 debut album ‘Tides’ created a
buzz and the band signed to Frontiers for the 2008 follow-up, ‘Blind Fire’. They were then picked up
by Spinefarm/Universal for ‘Circus Colossus’ the following year, but became inactive shortly after.
Now they are back, with new singer Kimmo Blom and guitarist Mikko Salovaara among their ranks.
‘DeterminUs’ promises to be a highlight of the melodic metal scene in 2019.
