Eric Gales // Crown // Album Review

The enigma that is Mr Eric Gales returns with his latest offering “Crown” drops this coming Friday, Jan 28th courtesy of Provogue Records/Mascot Label Group.

Eric’s life story is a crazy tale of undeniable talent, trials and tribulations and overcoming adversity to make his mark as one of the finest six-string slingers on the scene today. A mind-blowing array of talent that spans genres and a musical rollercoaster of a ride, his latest offering as always keeps the listener on their toes throughout.

There is a definite swagger and attitude about Eric’s latest album that says he’s not holding back. As always, you’ll be treated to an array of musical influences and styles across an Eric Gales album, in a blink of an eye you can go from a Blues infused number to a neo-classical outburst that you just didn’t see coming, Eric has the ability to transcend what you would expect from your average Blues or guitar-focused album. A classy vocalist he lay’s down smooth vocals alongside guitar work that mesmerises at each and every turn, the now infamous single “I Want My Crown” featuring Joe Bonamassa which has the two duelling it out may have got the tongues wagging but Joe is a big fan of Eric’s and there is a mutual respect that goes back through the years, long-time friends and associates at the highest level.

For many Eric Gales is still an unknown entity but with each album, he releases it becomes impossible to ignore this mammoth guitar player, a rare unique talent he can and will leave you breathless in a heartbeat.

You have been warned, Eric Gales arrives this coming Friday, Jan 28th. Heavy indeed is the Crown.
