Elles Bailey & Lady Nade Join Forces to Release ‘Silent Night’ as a Charity Christmas Single Supporting Shelter
Multi-award-winning, genre-crossing Blues, Roots and Americana star Elles Bailey is releasing a charity Christmas single in conjunction with her fellow Bristolian friend and Award Nominated singer-songwriter Lady Nade. The single is these talented singers’ distinctive take on the much-loved, traditional carol ‘Silent Night’ and will raise funds for the charity Shelter.
The chance to collaborate on a joint project has been a long time in the making for these two talented musical friends, who over the years have shared many a stage together.
Elles reflects on how this, of all years, led to collaboration: “2020 has become the year of collaboration: a beautiful silver lining to come out of the darkness and I am so excited about this ‘Silent Night’ collaboration with my gorgeous talented friend, and fellow Bristolian: Lady Nade.
“I love how our completely different voices weave together to create such lovely textures; plus, we are joined by the tremendous Joe Wilkins on guitar — it really is a stunning mix, even though I say so myself! All in aid of Shelter.
“What I also love about this particular collaboration is that we have come together for an incredible cause at this much-needed time. It’s heartbreaking to see the amount of homelessness we have just here in Bristol, let alone across the country. The money raised for Shelter can give a lifeline to those people, especially at Christmas and through the cold Winter months.”
GuyB (producer & award-nominated presenter of Great Music Stories) was bowled over by the track, which he put “straight to the top of our festive radio playlist. This is THE song for this Christmas! Wonderfully true to the original spirit of this timeless song, but both Elles Bailey and Lady Nade bring their own characters to their performance. It’s easy to merely mimic a classic, but to truly build on one takes class and talent. A beautiful single that acts as a soothing tonic to a 2020 of pain, suffering and loss. This is a single about, and for, the enduring human spirit. Marvellous!”
Maximo Newton (Head of Community Fundraising for Shelter) points out “It’s been a year of unbelievable difficulty for many people. The impact of the pandemic means that many are facing homelessness for the first time; some will be forced to sleep on the streets this winter. Shelter is working hard to help those who are worst affected — but as growing numbers of people need our support, we ourselves need the support of the public.
“That’s why Elles Bailey and Lady Nade supporting us means so much to Shelter. The money raised will help us to give hope and support to those who need us after a turbulent year. Thank-you to Elles Bailey and Lady Nade: you are making a real difference to the individuals and families facing homelessness this Christmas.”
This is a cause and charity that both Elles Bailey and Lady Nade are passionate about.
