Acoustic rock duo ECHO TOWN are back with ‘No Different’, the first single to emerge from their forthcoming new album ‘Kin’.

Easy going and free flowing, ‘No Different’ is a ragga-tipped, surf-kissed lullaby charged with a healthy dose of peace, kinship and optimism; something no doubt everyone could do with a little extra-of these days. With the problems of the world mounting up around him, Ric’s natural reaction was to find solution through song. Written in just one night from his home on the Cornish coast, the words and music of ‘No Different’ seemed to materialise completely spontaneously. It was only reviewing the sessions later, Ric realised the gem in which he had produced; a song that brims with an organic, earnest and unadulterated message of hope that stands primed to pull himself, and us all, through these darkening times.

Matched with a suitably sunny video sure to raise a smile, you can check out the track here and now:

Speaking about writing ‘No Different’ and the message behind it, Ric says:
“I’d got worked up about the problems in the world that are keeping people from loving one another and I guess this song was the product of my frustration…. The song was inspired by just observing the issues we see in the world and how realistically we are all the same. Trying to achieve the same things, happiness, peace, contentment. Things get in the way of it all like egos, race and religion and mess it all up when in actuality we are all just human beings and no different from each other.”

‘No Different’ is the first single to emerge from ECHO TOWN’s forthcoming fourth studio album: ‘Kin’.

Arriving as the eagerly awaited follow-up to their benchmark album, 2016’s ‘Be Strong Troop On’, the dynamic duo of Richard & Robert Harrison make their return with a record that fuses molten rock wig-outs, frenzied acoustica, riled-up reggae, and bastardised blues. A hissing cauldron brimful of budding ideas, conscientious lyricism and impressive instrumentation, ‘Kin’ is the band’s most ambitious album to date and lands on out on 5th October 2018.

‘Kin’ was recorded with producer and sound engineer extraordinaire John Cornfield (Muse, The Stone Roses, Ben Howard). With Cornfield taking charge of the mixing and mastering, the record was then given the final production makeover by Echo Town themselves.

A record that is meant to be heard in the natural environment of its intention, Echo Town will be taking ‘Kin’ out on the road for a series of UK shows this Autumn. Catch the band at the following dates:

Formed in the North of England in 2013, Echo Town are brothers Ric and Rob Harrison. After jamming for many years the time was ready to take things serious, so they set up in the South West and immersed themselves in music and their dream lifestyle. Hitting on a heady brew that mixes their love of surf culture and nature with contemporary freedom songs, the band have become instantly recognisable for their multi-instrumental performances and eclectic sound; it’s perhaps no surprise then, that BBC Introducing picked them out for sessions very early on. Touring restlessly across the UK live circuit, the band have been making the steady climb to stardom with their powerful headline shows, festival billings at the likes of Oceanfest, Glastonbury, Boomtown, Boardmasters, Loose Music Fest, Montreux Jazz Festival and by taking up crowd winning support slots with the likes of class-acts Xavier Rudd, Chali 2na, Morcheeba, My Baby, Ferocious Dog, Wille & the Bandits and Sound of the Sirens. Something of a benchmark year for the band, in 2016 on the back of their ‘Be Strong Troop On’ album, the brothers impressively notched up over 100 shows as they dedicatedly proved their commitment to their cause.

In 2018, the band will release ‘Kin’ and will embark on an extensive tour of UK and Europe… Watch out for further updates and the debut single to be unveiled in due course.
