What can you say about the Eagles Of Death Metal’s latest release except it does exactly what it says on the tin? The Eagles Of Death MetalPresents Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote is an eclectic collection of songs chosen by frontman Jesse Hughes and delivered in the signature style of the EODM. That may sound obvious, but you get a unique take on some classic’s and old school beauties, from Kiss to Gun’s ‘N’ Roses and George Michael to Mary J. Blige, yes you heard me right.

So what do you get for your hard earned money, a quirky fresh take on gargantuan hits delivered through the eyes an ears of one Mr Jesse Hughes, the essence if each song is there but somehow made his own via his brave interpretation on well-established fan favourites. Some of these songs are gargantuan in size, yet Hughes take brings them back to a softer more subtle version that’s less in your face but no less memorable. It would have been so easy to BIG and larger than life to but to somehow strip these back and simplify these beauties, Hughes must be applauded.

Each song needs no introduction; unless you have been laying under a rock somewhere, and if you have, welcome back! It’s a musical re-education of sorts, pushing the boundaries and taking the listener outside their comfort zone, yet somehow are wrapped up in the comfort of an EODM blanket of emotional support, you feel me?

Anywho, if you are a lover of the EODM, this will be right up your street. If you are not yet a convert and are yearning for something a little special to float your boat, The Eagles Of Death Metal Presents Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote may just be your album of 2019.

Out now via uME dip your toes in, you’ll not regret it.
