Following on from their third GRAMMY nomination, millions-selling progressive music titans Dream Theater are sharing another music video from their recently released 15th studio album A View From The Top Of The World. ”Transcending Time” is the fourth video unveiled from the band’s latest album and is another CGI creation by long-time collaborator Wayne Joyner. The song has been a fan-favourite since the album was released and is the shortest track on the band’s latest album clocking in at 6:24 seconds. The performance showcases the band’s musical influences while being quintessential Dream Theater. The video for “Transcending Time” can be seen here: https://youtu.be/LbzrxFRCyAk.

Dream Theater recently shared the rescheduled dates for their Top Of The World Tour of North America. Those dates will now kick off next week in Arizona on February 2nd and run 7 weeks before ending in Texas on March 21st. This tour will mark the first live performances of music from the band’s latest release A View From The Top Of The World. Arch Echo will be the opener on all dates in the United States and Falset will be the opener on all of the dates in Canada. Label-mates Devin Townsend join the band for the mainland European dates, which conclude June 1st in Turkey.
Dream Theater celebrated the end of 2022 with the announcement of their third GRAMMY nomination for the song “The Alien.” The song is the album opener of A View From The Top Of The World and was nominated in the Best Metal Performance category and the category video can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CWoJ4UYg3nX/. The latest nomination follows their two previous nominations: one in 2013 in the Best Metal Performance category for “The Enemy Inside” and one in 2011 in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for “On The Backs Of Angels.”
Dream Theater’s A View From The Top Of The World was released to worldwide acclaim on October 22nd. The album shot to #1 on the iTunes Store Top Albums Metal chart, #1 on the Top Rock Albums and even reached #4 on All Genres iTunes Top Albums on release day. The new release hit #2 on the Amazon Best Sellers in Rock (CD format) only to be topped by The Beatles reissue of Let It Be. The band recently released an in-depth, 3-part docuseries hosted by ProgReport’s Roie Avin about the making of A View From The Top Of The World. Click through to watch Part 1Part 2, and Part 3. Fans can also watch an animated video for album opener “The Alien”, a video for the first official single “Invisible Monster”, and a frenetic, high-definition CGI marvel from long-time collaborator Wayne Joyner for “Awaken The Master”. The album is available everywhere music is sold/streamed and can also be ordered here.
Dream Theater – comprised of James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung and Mike Mangini – was in the middle of a sold-out world tour in support of their last release Distance Over Time and the 20th anniversary of Scenes From A Memory when a Global Pandemic brought the world to a stop. The musicians found themselves at home with LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the group in the States. As fate would have it, they’d just finished construction on DTHQ (Dream Theater Headquarters) —a combination live recording studio, rehearsal space, control room, equipment storage, and creative hive. With LaBrie in Canada, he initially wrote with the band via Zoom on a monitor in DTHQ. In March 2021, he flew down to New York, quarantined, and recorded his vocals face-to-face with Petrucci. The album ultimately threaded together lean and uncompromising hooks with tried-and-true technical proficiency.
