For anyone who had read my reviews before, I make no secret of being a huge fan of Dødsferd and the incredible Black Metal that Wrath creates, so when I was asked if I fancied reviewing this compilation, it was something I jumped at the opportunity of.

Formed in 2001 as a one-man outfit and having released two demos, ten full-length albums, nine split albums/Eps, three Eps, a live album, and five compilation albums, it is clear that Wrath is a very hard working individual and following his return to his homeland of Crete in 2018, he continues to overflow with inspiration for his music as well as being the founder and owner of Fucking Your Creation Records.

So where does this 7-track compilation fit into the discography? Simply put, it is curated from different periods in the life of the band and allow those people to either reflect on the progression of the band or for anyone new to this incredible and raw music, it is a quick catch up on everything you have been missing and also includes a brand new track made just for this offering to close the album.

Clocking in at just over 86 minutes, this release is definitely one go get settled down and comfy and prepare for utter wonder as the creations that Wrath manages to record just blow your mind over and over again.

Whether you get hypnotized by the drone of the guitars, drawn to the crushingly powerful drums or transfixed on the stunning vocals, one way or another Dødsferd draw you into a beautifully bleak wilderness and share the pains and struggles in a way that other bands can only wish for and the rawness of the music echoes through you and resonates in a wonderful way.

If you are a fan of Black Metal the this is simply a must-listen, if you are a Dødsferd fan, you know what to expect but please listen to this and allow yourself to get captivated again. If you have never experienced Black Metal, you will struggle to find a better example than this so please allow yourself to be covered by the darkness that Dødsferd brings. This is another incredible offering by an extremely talented Wrath.
