The single will be officially available everywhere on Friday 15th November. An acronym for Deaf Mute Society, DMS have individual and collective influences that span from Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Led Zeppelin, through to Hadouken, Nirvana and Prince. With this heady mixture, you can anticipate a diverse and captivating sound from the courageous crew. Upon listening to DMS, you’ll soon be astutely aware of the band’s firm encyclopedic grasp of Rock, Funk, and Soul. The fivesome truly possess a gift for delivering groove-drenched vibes with contagious hooks. The quintet were originally formed at the end of 2015 in Edinburgh. Initially comprised of John Keenan (Vocals), Mikey Robertson (Guitars/Vocals) and Callum Saint (Drums), the trio set to work on arming themselves with a hefty back catalogue whilst looking for additional members to complete their alluring sound. At the start of 2018, Euan “Mush” Mushet (Bass) and Jen Bain (Keyboard) answered the call, finally granting DMS the right personnel and a fully composed line-up. The band hit the ground running and soon released their first single, Howl, which was backed with live shows across the UK, culminating in a massive sold out homecoming performance at The Liquid Room in November to celebrate the release of their follow-up single, Tight Jeans. Throughout 2019 the band played a host of Scottish festivals slots: March Into Pitlochry, Oban Live, Kelburn Garden Party and Party At The Palace. DMS dropped their third single, Dirt, in April and happily performed another sold out show. Last Summer, the band announced a deal with Glasgow based Reaction Management. DMS are now poised to unleash their debut EP, “Impostor Syndrome”, backed by a brand new single, “Vain”. Mikey Robertson (Guitars/Vocals) remarks about the record: “Impostor Syndrome affects a lot of people and seemed like a fitting title for our debut EP. Even though we’ve done a lot so far, there are times where we doubt ourselves. Attaching that title to work that we’re really proud of is a great coping mechanism.” With further live shows set to be announced later this year, stay glued to the band’s social sites for updates. www.facebook.com/dmsscotland www.deafmutesociety.com www.instagram.com/dmspx www.twitter.com/dmstweetz https://dmsscotland.bandcamp.com/ Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...
