RESCHEDULE HEADLINE UK TOUR FOR APRIL 2021

ANNOUNCE NEW LIVERPOOL ARENA DATE

“… Triumphant …” Q MAGAZINE ****

“… The Aussie trio shine on third album …” SUNDAY TIMES CULTURE

“… It’s not just the music that’s on another level; lyrically The Glow sees DMA’S at their most vulnerable, most excitable and most inspiring …” NME

DMA’S have announced they have rescheduled their UK headline October tour to April 2021 and also announced a new Liverpool M&S Bank Arena date for 9 April. Full dates as below. DMA’S are renowned for their euphoric live performances, having previously sold out both Manchester Castlefield Bowl and London O2 Brixton Academy in less than 24 hours. Fans now have the opportunity to purchase tickets for their April headline tour, including their biggest UK headline show to date at London Alexandra Palace. Tickets are available from Friday 28 August at 9am.

DMA’S critically acclaimed third studio album, THE GLOW, was released in July and charted at an impressive #4 in the official UK album chart, #2 in Australia and #1 in Scotland.

THE GLOW is a mission statement that the trio immediately encapsulate within the opening two tracks. A swaggering mash-up of Screamadelica-era attitude, big beat dynamics and modern alt-pop flair, NEVER BEFORE instantly sets the tone. The title track then keeps the energy firing, a rapid rush of melodic energy, joyous optimism and a new-found confidence in Tommy O’Dell’s vocals.

As suggested by SILVER, the first single from the album, DMA’S are expanding the scale of their sound. Yet DMA’S save the biggest surprise for last with COBRACAINE being a celebration of everything the band can be. It’s a maximalist melting pot of sounds: an escalating wall of guitars the foundation for a tense, almost trance-like beat with vocals filtered through harmonies and vocoders. And as the record hurtles to its mesmerising conclusion, one thing is certain: this is the most fully realised of the band’s three albums to date.

THE GLOW was produced and mixed by Grammy award winning producer STUART PRICE [Madonna, The Killers, New Order] in the historic Westlake Recording Studios, a long way from the band’s early days in Sydney. From their emotive heart to their towering hooks, the core traits that have earned DMA’S a huge following are still prominent in the new album, but their anthemic sound is now infused with a euphoric flood of alt-pop flair with pulsating synths and taut beats, while the huge choruses will prove be electrifying highlights of future live shows.

THE GLOW is available to purchase on CD, download and heavyweight vinyl as well as limited edition heavyweight tricolour vinyl through HMV and independent record stores. Exclusive merchandise bundles are available through the band’s store at: https://dmas.lnk.to/storePR

DMA’S are Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason and Johnny Took. The band formed in Sydney and made an immediate impression with their self-titled 2014 debut EP. Their full-length debut, HILLS END, saw them crash into Australia’s Top 10, before the second album FOR NOW cemented them as a force globally. The first album earned three ARIA Music Award nominations for Best Group, Best Rock Album and Best Independent Release.

In 2018, they became one of the first Australian bands to play the iconic MTV Unplugged session, following in the footsteps of all-time greats such as Nirvana, Oasis and R.E.M. The performance was captured in last year’s MTV UNPLUGGED LIVE album. FOR NOW, released in 2018, achieved their highest UK chart position of #13, boosted by huge ongoing support at daytime radio. An impressive 40,000 tickets were sold on their headline UK tours in 2019, and they continued that ascension with main stage sets at Isle of Wight, TRNSMT and Citadel alongside huge outdoor shows with Courteeners and Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds as well as main support on Liam Gallagher’s 2019 UK arena tour.

The band sold out London O2 Brixton Academy in just hours and performed to a riotous crowd shortly before lockdown in March. They also sold out Manchester Castlefield Bowl in less than 24 hours, currently being rescheduled for 2021, and have announced their biggest London headline show to date at Alexandra Palace.
