RELEASES NEW SINGLE
PERFORMING VIRTUALLY ON THE BBC RADIO 1 BIG WEEKEND INTRODUCING STAGE SUNDAY MAY 24TH
“…rising London artist Conrad has the perfect song to add to your playlist” – COMPLEX UK
“Conrad is proving that you don’t have to fit in boxes to step in the spotlight.” – HUNGER
Rising singer-songwriter Conrad today unveils his new single ‘Lost’, released via Twin Music/Kobalt.
The new track follows the announcement of Conrad performing at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, where he will perform on the virtual BBC Introducing stage, Sunday May 24th.
‘Lost’ boasts a stadium-ready sound, with the driving force being Conrad’s captivating vocal. As the Manchester born singer-songwriter explains “(Lost) is about feeling completely disconnected from your whole world after a break up with someone you’ve been with for a long time. Each day feels like you’re floating through space with no meaning – just complete emptiness and you’re constantly trying to find ways to distract yourself from reality”.
Conrad adds “Interestingly I wrote this song last year about a specific time in my life, yet the lyrics have become even more poignant recently and will hopefully resonate with a lot of people on different levels”.
His classic yet refined sound, remarkably impactful voice, and talent for turning personal experience into meaningful song, have seen Conrad’s live show progress from performing piano bars to selling-out Omeara in just six months – an unarguable impressive trajectory for a surefire one to watch.
When it comes to live shows, Conrad relies on personal knowledge and experience of selling tickets from his time running club nights at university. Harnessing these same skills with a personable attitude, Conrad’s hard work now accounts for two other sold out shows: an O2 Academy Islington, and a Moth Club.
Conrad’s debut single ‘Blue Blooded’ garnered widespread support from the likes of Hunger, Complex, SBTV, BBC Introducing and Elton John’s Beats 1 Rocket Hour, and has accumulated 250k streams to date with 25 Apple Music ‘Breaking Pop’ playlist inclusions. Last year, Conrad supported Stevie Wonder at the BST Hyde Park festival, and performed at the El Dorado Festival. Most recently, Conrad’s cover of John Legend’s ‘Bigger Love’ received a subtle nod of approval from the GRAMMY Award winner over Instagram.
With an EP set for the release this summer and live shows to follow, there is no denying that through hard graft Conrad has earned a name for himself. As a gifted lyricist and musician, there’s a lot in store for the year to come, and beyond.
