CLIFFHANGER SHARES NEW SINGLE “HOLLOWED OUT,”
ANNOUNCES EPONYMOUS EP
Chicago’s pop punk band Cliffhanger are excited to announce a new eponymous EP out on Friday, January 10, 2020! Preorder HERE.
Additionally, on Friday, December 13, Cliffhanger will release a new single “Hollowed Out” and video from their self-titled EP. Watch HERE.
Cliffhanger self-produced the melodic, high-energy track at Flashpoint Chicago and partnered with Michael Govaere (ex-Every Avenue) for mixing and mastering. As their band continues to grow, they would love your support to share the video and help take Cliffhanger to new heights.
Captivating and bursting with melodious tunes, “Hollowed Out” focuses on the challenge of finding self-awareness when you’re engulfed with difficult situations.
Guitarist Dan Rickert evokes, “’Hollowed Out’ is a band favorite to play and it has a long history. We originally wrote ‘Hollowed Out’ back in early 2018, but we were never quite satisfied with the song. We took a step back to reflect on what we wanted to convey. Ultimately, we wanted to focus on the challenge to becoming self-aware and to take action if something in your life is not satisfying you. After coming to that consensus as a band, we quickly reworked parts of the song and we are all proud of the outcome.”
The music video for “Hollowed Out” was directed, edited, and produced by Henrique Lazary and Nika Denise Moore. The new video shares clips from a previous live performance as well as studio footage from recording “Hollowed Out.” Cliffhanger partnered with Flashpoint Chicago to record their upcoming EP and this music video.
The quintet also recently released another single called “After Sunrise” on November 22, 2019 from the upcoming Cliffhanger EP. Listen to “After Sunrise” HERE.
“Hollowed Out” and “After Sunrise” are the first releases the band have shared since their third EP, Old Wounds. Featuring prominent electric guitars and thoughtful melodies, the record revisits the pain and nostalgia of every wandering punk’s angsty yesteryear. Listen to Old Wounds HERE.
Cliffhanger has an impressive history of shows, with performances at the Vans Warped Tour, Subterranean, Beat Kitchen, and numerous sold out gigs. They’ve also shared the stage with Chicago’s soul-crushing Belmont, nudist punk rockers Keep Flying, We Were Sharks, Light Years, and many more.
They look forward to hearing your thoughts on the single. Once again, please reach out with any questions!
