Produced by Don Reedman and Nick Patrick and recorded at the fabled Abbey Road Studio 2, ‘Christmas with The Stars and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ is the latest release in RPO’s fruitful association with Legacy, following the phenomenal worldwide success of 2015’s ‘If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ (which has sold more than 1.5 million copies), 2016’s ‘The Wonder Of You: Elvis Presley with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ (which sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide) and ‘Christmas with Elvis and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ (which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart in 2017). Legacy Recordings, in partnership with Roy’s Boy’s LLC, has also released ‘A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ (2017) and ‘Unchained Melodies: Roy Orbison with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ (2018).

‘Christmas with The Stars and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ is released on CD and digital formats today.

Producer Nick Patrick says in his notes for the album, Christmas music conjures up such warm emotions surrounded by family, friends and children. The music is so evocative of the time of year when you have artists such as Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, the wonderful Doris Day and of course the incomparable Eartha Kitt purring her way through the definitive version of ‘Santa Baby’! Christmas music just doesn’t get much better. It’s been such fun working on these amazing songs which are so full of joy and Christmas spirit.”

Patrick’s sentiments are echoed by fellow producer Don Reedman who writes, “We are thrilled to be able to celebrate this very special occasion with our latest collaboration of the all-time greatest stars performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Andy Williams sets the mood and then we take you on a musical journey through the Christmas celebrations, reliving the story of Christmas with Johnny Mathis and Harry Belafonte and capturing the spirit of this wonderful time of the year – all performed with the stars, including Perry Como, Tony Bennett, Doris Day, Dean Martin, Eartha Kitt, Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley. We hope you enjoy our album and wish every one of you…love, joy, hope, peace and happiness for the year ahead. Merry Christmas everyone!”
