Ireland’s leading electronic music festival, Celtronic, celebrates its nineteenth anniversary this summer with five days and nights of music events, workshops, recording projects and much more across the city of Derry from Wednesday June 26th – Sunday June 30th. 19 years on since the festival’s inception, Celtronic’s ethos remains the same: a celebration of dance music culture that is focussed not on profit but on showcasing the biggest, most relevant names in electronic music alongside the best local and national artists in Derry’s finest venues and event spaces.

This year’s festival gets underway on Wednesday June 26thwith an opening concert. From Ulster Orchestra & Phil Kieran. For the last number of months. PHIL KIERAN has been collaborating with a number of local musicians and producers at Celtronic Studios to create a new collection of music that will be performed by the ULSTER ORCHESTRA at the event.

Later that evening at St Columb’s Hall will host an unmissable party with Celtronic favourite MOVE D, one of modern electronic music’s most beloved souls, playing alongside one of the most in demand DJ’s in house music, Stockholm resident and Studio Barnhus main man AXEL BOMAN.

On Thursday June 27th, following a live broadcast from The Nerve Centre, Magazine St by BBC Radio Foyle’s Electric Mainline Show, Sandinos will welcome Berghain – Berlin regular and one of the most exciting DJs on the scene, DR RUBINSTEIN and Copenhagen DJ, COURTESY whose sets see fast, streamlined stompers sit alongside whip-crack electro and churning, wrongspeed EBM – held together by a common thread of smart and emotive melody.

St Columb’s Hall will host one of the biggest nights at this year festival on Friday June 28th with a live set from KiNK, one of the most innovative, uncompromising and captivating live performers in electronic music. Also appearing on the night will be KRYSTAL KLEAR, the man behind the biggest track of 2018  ‘Neutron Dance’, and THE CYCLIST whose live set of gritty, unpredictable and absorbing club sounds is unmissable.

Saturday at Celtronic is traditionally the busiest day at the festival with 12 hours of music at numerous events across the city. With Celtronic Emerge showcases of some of the best new acts in Irish electronica and a very special early evening event at Culturlann Ui Chanain with RYAN VAIL & ELMA ORKESTRA’s acclaimed BORDERS show. Saturday’s late night action will take place at The Nerve Centre with a stunning two room event. The main room will see Japanese techno wizard DJ NOBU, one of the most revered DJs in the world make his Celtronic debut. Tough, deep, emotional and experimental, the Nobu sound is hard to define, yet its impact on the dance floor is undeniable.  Derry lady OR:LA whose career continues to reach dizzying heights with a packed global touring schedule with regular spots at some of the world’s best clubs including Panorama Bar-Berlin and De School-Amsterdam, returns home to the festival she first played in 2013. The second room at The Nerve Centre will feature leading activist of Belfast’s underground dance scene, NEZ playing alongside Darren Allen, Underlying Form.

The historic surroundings of The Guildhall will be the venue for the Celtronic 2019 closing party with two of Irelands best, PHIL KIERAN and a live show from one of the best in  NEW JACKSON alongside a very, very special headliner who will be announced on June 10th.
