CAR BOMB announce brand new album ‘Mordial’, set for release September 27th / Will be released through Holy Roar in Europe / New single+video

They may be a tiny, independent operation but they show a fantastic grasp of DIY ethics… Car Bomb are looking to push the boundaries within an extreme form of music already considerably difficult to digest and should be applauded for doing so magnificently.

Car Bomb’s meaty riffs sound rooted in New York hardcore, and between the aural bashing, there are snippets of clean, melodic vocals”

Album written and produced by Greg Kubacki from the band and mixed by Periphery’s Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood

UK & European tour with Animals As Leaders in August, as well as Arctangent Festival (UK) and Euroblast Festival (DE – headlining)

One of the most impressive things about CAR BOMB, is that their colossal achievements – tours alongside various metal heavyweights, three album releases, an endless list of worldwide festivals – have all stemmed from hard graft. Self-releasing, creating their own lighting rigs for shows and their own art and music videos, CAR BOMB are essentially one of the biggest, hidden secrets in the world of metal.

This is all going to change soon, as the band are set to return with their brand new, 4th album ‘Mordial’, which will be released on September 27th through the Holy Roar record label (Rolo Tomassi, Conjurer, Møl) and looks set to firmly establish the band as a true modern great of the genre. This has been preceded by recent single ‘Dissect Yourself‘ and now their massive new single ‘Scattered Sprites’, which is out today (July 26th) and you can listen

A bit more about ‘Mordial’ from Greg Kubacki – “This sounds extremely cliche, but ‘Mordial’ to me is a record that feels the most like ‘us’.  I mean we love heavy shit, but that’s not what we listen to on the regular. This album explores a lot of other tones, timbers and vibes that we normally listen to, and I’m really excited that we get to showcase that on this record.”

“Wrapping up the sessions of ‘Mordial’ is kinda bitter sweet.  I started writing this album after watching Gojira for a month straight on the ‘Magma’ tour two and a half years ago, and whatever voodoo they had going on during that run had a tremendous effect on me.  I really can’t put my finger on what we’ve been going for on this one (because it’s weird AF), but I know that tour was the seed. And it’s sad that it’s all ending because I’ve never felt so alive working on a record.”

Live wise, the band will be touring the UK and Europe with Animals As Leaders in August, playing at the brilliant ArcTanGent Festival near Bristol in August and also headlining
Euroblast Festival in Germany on September 29th. These follow tours and shows with the likes of Dillinger Escape Plan, Meshuggah and Gojira (with whom they share a recording studio with, in Brooklyn NYC).

CAR BOMB ‘Scattered Sprites’ (Official Music Video)
A bit about CAR BOMB:

Originally formed on Long Island, New York, CAR BOMB are a band whose style is marked by a highly experimental and extremely aggressive approach to metal.  Their unpredictable blend of evolving polyrhythms, shifting tempos, syncopated down-tuned guitars, jazz-influenced drumming, harmonically deconstructive riffing, and dynamic vocals create a sound that is pulverising and intensely disorienting.  They’ve created music that is fluid and ever changing, and have never been afraid of veering off on bold melodic tangents.  This unique sound combined with a strong DIY work ethic and a continuously growing fan base has earned them opportunities to tour with larger acts in the genre.

The band released their debut album Centralia on Relapse Records in 2007, and supported the record on US tours with High on Fire & Pig Destroyer in 2008 and then Gojira in 2009. They self-released their second album w^w^^w^w (pronounced “w-click-w” or “the waveform album”) in 2012.  It featured guest vocals by Joseph Duplantier of Gojira, whom they would again tour with later that year.  In 2014, Meshuggah invited them to open for them during the European leg of their 25th anniversary tour.

They then released their third album Meta in the fall of 2016, which again featured Joseph Duplantier, who shared a co-production credit with Greg Kubacki. The album also features Frank Mullen of Suffocation and was mixed by Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive). The band kicked off the release with shows supporting Gojira and Tesseract as well as opening for The Dillinger Escape Plan on their farewell US tour. In early 2017, they headed back to Europe/UK opening up for Gojira (including the date at Wembley Arena). The band then headlined their own European tour in September before returning to the US in October to support Animals as Leaders and Periphery.

CAR BOMB are:
