SWEDISH CLASSIC METAL ACT’S BLISTERING ‘LIVE’ ALBUM RELEASED JULY 5TH ON STEAMHAMMER / SPV
Explosive Swedish classic heavy metal five-piece Bullet have lined up the release of their first ever live album, ‘Live’, on Steamhammer / SPV on July 5th as a double Digipak CD, double gatefold 180 gram black vinyl LP with printed inner sleeves, (+poster + 2 CD’s in cardboard sleeves), download and stream.
Bullet, who were formed in Växjö in 2001 by vocalist Hell Hofer and guitarist Hampus Klang, released their sixth studio album, ‘Dust To Gold’ on Steamhammer / SPV in April 2018 to huge acclaim. Classic Rock Society raved “‘Dust To Gold’ is a thrilling heavy rock album that delivers the goods on each of its twelve tracks of highly charged mayhem. Hofers has a truly powerful voice with a wide range and the twin guitarists of Klang and Lyrbo keep the solos and riffs coming thick and fast. They have the energy of AC/DC, the power of Iron Maiden and the songs of Judas Priest. Come on, what’s not to like here?”. Fireworks Magazine’s Steve Price stated that “From the opener ‘Speed And Attack’, through the powerful ‘Fuel The Fire’ through the slightly slower ‘Wildfire’, I love this album!”.
Bullet’s incendiary live set has been keenly honed down from touring most European countries several times, opening for AC/DC in front of 55,000 people (in 2009) and performing at some of Europe’s most prestigious festivals, including Rock Am Ring, Graspop, Sweden Rock, Rock Hard, Keep It True, Headbangers Open Air and Wacken (twice). Hampus Klang states “For so many years people have asked us to do a live album, and now after six full-length studio releases we felt the time was right. The main part was recorded in Germany. It’s a mixture of three gigs from our 2017 ‘Storm Of Blades’ tour and the ‘Dust To Gold’ tour in 2018. Both were filled with headbanging maniacs who thirsted for heavy metal and a good time. We also used recording devices in the crowd to capture the true heavy metal experience of a live Bullet show. ‘Live’ consists of 18 original numbers, no covers. It´s a mix of all our previous tracks since the first mini-album in 2003. These are our live favourites from the many years on the road, including five songs from our most recent album ‘Dust To Gold’, which really satisfied both us and the fans”
‘Live’, which contains a ‘best-of’ mix of Bullet’s exhilarating melodious rock anthems, was recorded by Bullet’s live technician Dennis Åhman and Arne Lakenmacher (Annihilator, Doro, Axel Rudi Pell) and then mixed by Mankan Sedenberg (Crucified Barbara, The Flower Kings) at the Pama Studios in Torsås, Sweden, and mastered by Maxe Axelsson (Karmakanic, among others).
Reflecting on any significant differences between the studio recordings and the new live versions, Klang concludes “We’ve played many of the songs countless times, which has given the material new life and new energy. Because we’ve toured so much, we have developed great communication skills on stage. This allows us to experiment with band presentations and awesome jam sessions. When we play live on a big stage, the raw energy makes the sound heavier and wilder. So yes, the songs are faster, harder and longer!”
