Beth Hart returns with yet another weapon in her arsenal, with her latest offering War In My Mind. Right from the off she announces its arrival with ‘Bad Woman Blues’ a stellar track that has you bumping and grinding from the off. A gritty number to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and take notice.

The albums title track ‘War In My Mind’ immediately slows down proceedings with a darker, sultry number, emotive and powerful it showcases Hart’s magic across four minutes twenty-two seconds that is impossible to ignore. An artist that has grafted for a lifetime to establish herself and one of the finest female voices in Blues-Rock today, each and every track on this album just reiterates that fact. A beautiful sonic rollercoaster of an album, rich in musicianship and with Hart leading from the front it is an album which will build on a fantastic reputation and solidify her place as one of the modern-day greats.

With an artist like Hart, you find the best people gravitate to her, hence the quality across this recording just has to be admired and taken in track by track, from the Bluesy roots to the Jazz-laden nuances and multi-layered textures across War In My Mind you can’t help but give in to its majesty. It’s an album, which is so rich in quality it’s a humbling experience that needs to be enjoyed. “More than any record I’ve ever made, I’m more open to being myself on these songs,” Beth explains. “I’ve come a long way with healing, and I’m comfortable with my darkness’s, weirdness’s and things that I’m ashamed of – as well as all the things that make me feel good.”

Beth pours her heart and soul out into every performance she does, and this album is no exception as she takes you through the gut-wrenching emotions that life throws at her and in which she translates into beautiful, emotive songwriting. What you get are twelve incredible songs that will stick with you forever.
