BALCONY Online Festival Announces #5
Raising funds in Association with Music Venue Trust, for #SAVEOURVENUES campaign.
Following the success of the ongoing Balcony Festival series, we bring you Balcony Festival #5.
This week, May 23 announces the fresh wave of incredible new artists and the perfect opportunity to hear some of the hottest new artists without having to leave your front door. This week’s series presents a fizzing and innovative line-up from False Heads, LE JUNK, Hideous Wheel Invention, Scrounge, Hightown Pirates, Clwb Fwuz and Ellis Frawley.
The festival has been set-up by a collaboration of online outlets and promoters to raise funds for various charities over lockdown and is the perfect antidote to lockdown, giving gig-goers an opportunity to discover the latest in up and coming music talent. The festival series which saw exclusive sessions recorded by artists in lockdown has so far raised more than £3,500 for NHS Charities Together, Musicians Against Homelessness and Refuge.
May 23 will see raising funds for the Music Venue Trust’s #SaveOurVenues campaign which aims to secure the future of more than 550 independent venues during the lockdown. The show will be free to watch but viewers are encouraged to make a donation if they are able to.
Balcony Festival is Named in tribute to the Italian musicians who sang from their windows during the early days of lockdown. It is presented by Louise Schofield and brought to you from an association of online magazines and promoters: Joyzine, Louder Than War, GIITTV, LOUD WOMEN, GigSlutz, The Zine UK, Benumu, Crocroland, Sonic Tonic, The Bechedel Sound Test, Quarantini Virtual Bar.
