They were the first ever recipients of the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album for ‘Fabulosos Calavera’, described at the time as “The Sgt. Pepper of the Rock en Espanol movement”. The band were heavily influenced by London – Mick Jones of The Clash played on the band’s stratospheric international hit Matador and the punk classic Guns of Brixton is a regular feature of the band’s set, this has all led to this show being staged at the band’s London spiritual home, the O2 Academy Brixton. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs said: “We are thrilled to be playing in London for the second time in our career, this time with brand new material from “La Salvación de Solo y Juan” plus songs spanning 32 years of music. ‘Matador’, ‘Mal Bicho’, ‘Vasos Vacíos’, ‘Siguiendo La Luna’… we can promise all of the popular hits alongside our new tracks, which we’re really excited to present. We expect London to have its dancing shoes on!” The legendary band returned to the stage last year, after a two-year break, revealing their 17th album ‘La Salvación de Solo y Juan’ featuring the hit single La Música Salvará Al Mundo (Music Will Save The World) and World Tour. More than 500,000 fans have already witnessed the incredible ‘La Salvación de Solo y Juan’ Tour across the Americas and is now ready to make its way to Europe. ‘La Salvación de Solo y Juan’ is a critically acclaimed ‘Rock Opera’ concept album that takes the listener on a 14 song journey through the history of the Clementi brothers. Written by Vicentico and Flavio Cianciarulo, the record was produced by Héctor Castillo, the household name that worked with Gustavo Cerati and David Bowie amongst others. The album set the return of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs to the stages after a two years absence in Buenos Aires. Main support on the evening comes from Boom Boom Kid, led by Carlos Damián Rodríguez, Argentine musician and songwriter most famous as part of the alternative rock band Fun People. With more than 300 songs and over 20 LPs under his belt, the band harnesses influences including hardcore, rock and roll, pop, punk-rock and cha cha cha which is guaranteed raise to roof at Brixton. Opening the night will be DJ Scratchy, former tour DJ with The Clash, The Pogues and Gogol Bordell.
