ADORE // REPEL recently returned from a self-booked, self-financed 10-date tour of the west coast of the USA in September, taking in shows in Portland, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles amongst others. Having landed back on home soil, the band have announced a free end of year show at LEEDS BAD APPLES on SATURDAY 17 NOVEMBER.

Before leaving for their USA tour, the band launched a new single and video, FRACTURES / IN TIME, their first new material since their debut album, EMPTY ORCHESTRA, which was released last year to a multitude of highly positive reviews. The new release followed another successful sold-out tour to Iceland in May and their rammed performance at the LONG DIVISION FESTIVAL in Wakefield in June, and is a further demonstration of their powerful and devastating, essentially instrumental sound.

You can watch the video here:

ADORE // REPEL are a self-funded four-piece from Wakefield, West Yorkshire; a fiercely independent band with their own record label, their own record shop and café bar, their own studio – which they built themselves – and plans for their own barbers and tattoo salon, who operate without a booking agent or manager, and embrace everything that has always been so healthy about the DIY ethic.

Many bands follow a similar path. The difference perhaps with ADORE // REPEL is that, without resorting to the machinations of the music industry, they have previously self-booked and played several full UK tours, along the way selling every bit of merchandise they took with them; performed three sell out tours in Iceland; played the Reading and Leeds Festivals; made the BBC Introducing Top Ten Sessions list; self-released their debut album, EMPTY ORCHESTRA, on their own label to huge acclaim; and now, of course, have played a 10-date tour of America.

… A debut album of this calibre in such a volatile industry is something to be marvelled at; unique, thought-provoking and intense. They have a very bright future ahead …” THIS IS SOUNDCHECK

… Everybody has different tastes but no matter what you listen to, this really is something special; it’s so good it could transcend all music tastes …” LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE

… Music that calls to mind rusty jeeps, dusty roads and the howl of a wolf pack baying for your blood; you’ll want to stick your head out of the sunroof for a gulp of fresh air then jump back on the accelerator before this album gets the better of you …” MOTLEY MAGAZINE
